  1. Does Leroy Vega get the Head Assistant position now that AJ Schopp is going to back to EDINBORO in PA? Who else can Purdue bring in to elevate the program? Brayton Lee? One of the Davidsons? Chad Red SR.?
  2. Possible Line-Up for I.U. 125 Jacob Moran / Blaine Frazier 133 Angelo Rini 141 Henry Porter 149 Anthony Bahl / Aiden Torres 157 Derek Gilcher/Bryce Lowery 165 Tyler Lillard/Derek Gilcher 174 D.J. Washington 184 Roman Rogotzke 197 Gabe Sollars HWT Jacob Bullock/Nick Pavlechko I do NOT put to much stock into Wrestle Stat but they have it: Indiana University or Purdue 24-9 Still room to make some Transfer Portal upgrades.
  3. I.U. has beat Purdue the last two years. What will the rosters look like next year?
  4. Oh yeah, I remember that one. Crown Point was SHOCKED and APPAULED that the Moran brothers wanted to leave and go to Portage. Crown Point challenged it, and both brothers lost the following year of eligibility. Younger brother (Jacob Moran) went on to win state his junior year and senior year (2X State Champ). Both went on ahead to wrestle D-1 on a full ride. ( No thanks to C.P.) ** I'm sure the A.D. does NOT want to dig that season up and discuss what was going on with "THAT" team, and the "Real" reason they transferred OUT!
  5. I wish I could be a fly on the wall during the intermission speech. The crown was definitely loud today, the band was an awesome touch. We need the band at every home dual now. Told you NOT your Daddies I.U. wrestling team anymore. Them boys look good, and will be even BETTER next year. Angel scratching teams off his list and putting others on notice. How about this Line Up for next year: 125 Moran/Frazier 133 Rooks/Butler 141 Porter 149 Torres 157 Lowery 165 Gilcher/Lillard 174 Washington/Goin 184 Washington/Rogotzke 197 Sollars 285 Bullock The future looks BRIGHT.....don't forget about a couple surprise transfers. sshhhhh!!!
  6. Definitely a pin from my view. Sergio Lemley looking REALLY good!
  7. If the Hoosiers come out on top of this one, then they are definitely NOT your Daddy's IU Wrestling team of the past anymore.
  8. Genius! If that was the case, then it sounds like Purdue got out wrestled and out COACHED!
  9. Final Score I.U. 22 Purdue 9. Looks like the Hoosiers have bragging rights for 2 years in a row now. As mentioned before, I.U. may be even better next year with their Red Shirts coming back into the line-up. There are also rumblings of a couple big names transferring in. Purdue's wrestlers fought all the way to the last whistle/second. Current line-Up is good, just not enough fire power!
  10. I.U. may be even better next year then this year...they have a few redshirts returning also. I'm sure they will also be exploring options in the transfer portal. Angel and staff are actually going to be decent/ pretty good for the next several years. Moran 125lbs back from redshirt 2 years of eligibility left Frazier 133 3 years of eligibility left Porter 141/149 back from redshirt 3 years of eligibility left Lowery 157 back from redshirt 4 years of eligibility left Lillard 165 ............................... 3 years of eligibility left Gilcher 165/174 .............................. 2 years of eligibility left D.J. 174/184 ...............................1 year of eligibility left (COVID Year) Sollars 197 3 years of eligibility left Bullock HWT. back from redshirt 1 years of eligibility left Good Question! Well you have got to qualify for the NCAA tournament first. From that list I can see Moran, Porter, Gilcher, Washington, Sollars, Bullock have a great chance to be NCAA qualifiers at their weight. After that ......luck of the draw and seeding play a BIG part in it. Next year I can see 6 NCAA qualifiers and possibly 2 All Americans and a couple round of 12 guys.
  11. Lets get this conversation going...Wrestle Stat has Indiana winning 26 - 6! Has Indiana surpassed Purdue like that??????
  12. I.U. may be even better next year then this year...they have a few redshirts returning also. I'm sure they will also be exploring options in the transfer portal. 13. Excited to watch a lot of our Indiana boys wrestle this weekend. Purdue vs UIndy will be fun. Really interested in the Blaze vs Bailey match if it happens at 157lb.
  14. Still early in the season. I don't know about look good.... but they actually did NOT look bad. They are going to look a lot better later in the season, there was no Moran in the line-up at 125, no Brayton Lee in at 157, and a forfeit at HWT, even though they have 2 on the roster. They still won 27-15. With a full line-up it could of been more like 33-9.
  15. The season has begun! Let's talk about our 2 DIV. 1 wrestling teams we have in Indiana. Which school is going to have the more competitive team this year? The new FLO rankings are out and I.U. has 6 guys ranked in the top 33, and PURDUE has 3 guys ranked in the top 33. Last year's Purdue vs I.U. dual went down to the wire, but if these rankings hold up looks like I.U. wins it pretty easily this year on Jan. 27th down in Bloomington.
  16. Not Your. Daddy’s IU wrestling team anymore! And guess what their ALL eligible 2 back next year!
  17. http://www.ihswca.org/news/2019-academic-all-state It is obvious that excelling at "Academics" and Wrestling is the quickest way to attract D1 recruiters: Jacob Moran 4.35 G.P.A. Silas Allred 4.08 G.P.A. Carson Brewer 3.6 G.P.A. Asa Garcia 3.57 G.P.A. Cayden Rooks 3.5 G.P.A. All of the above are State Champs but more importantly are on the academic -all-state list. Oh yeah and all will be attending a D1 University for little to no money out of pocket. A combination of academic / athletic scholarship is the secret.
  18. Congratulation to all on this list. It is just as important as winning a title, if not even MORE IMPORTANT. All of the D1 schools want to see them grades.
  19. Congratulation to Drousias winning Illinois State at 3A, and all of the other Indiana boys that placed down in Illinois. The Drousias Vs Moran match has happened twice already in the last two years. Moran is 2-0 against him. They are Both awesome wrestlers, fun to watch, and have bright futures.
  20. I.U. is getting another great wrestler. Congratulations to Jacob and Coach Escobedo on the great pickup!
  21. Looks like FABIO would have lost the house at 16O! and 126 ! Even Pistol Pete Was barely able to see Mr.Washington from up North through all that smoke. We give Pistol a little credit, he did have his one bad eye on D.J. Washington. Looks like the Indians could have a couple more under the spotlight in February. Shout out to young KT NELSON I still think RAYMOND Rioux had the shocker of the day!
  22. Jacob did have a great tournament; as did several other of the Indiana boys. It is great to see Indiana boys getting National recognition. Also great to see the IHPO getting a shout-out!
  23. HHHMMMM great kid, great dad,,but.....I would have to disagree. Riley Bettich is a two time finalist, and a state champ in Michigan Div. 2 @ (103lbs?) If he wrestled in Indiana he might not have even made Varsity the last 2 years on teams like Cathedral, Brownsburg, Portage, Warren Central, Avon, Yorktown, Shenandoah, Wheeler, etc....... I still think Manzona Bryant is the biggest transfer so far.
  24. H.S. State Finals rematch! This time @113 and Freestyle Moran Teched Cottey. Brayden Lowery teched Hadley to win @120 Tanner Damien teched Robinson to win @ 126 Asa Garcia beats Walendzak 13-2 to win @ 132 Antwaun Graves beats Conley 13-6 to win @ 152 D.J. Washington teched Elliott Rodgers to win@160
  25. I have seen the video and RUMPH was dominating the match. It was a Coaches call..Shame on him!
