LAtely the numbers are way down for local tournaments as we all know. I have noticed some places are combining cadet and junior divisions . This seems like a no brainer as one way to try to keep these local tournaments alive. Every week you see a handful of kids go home because they have no one to wrestle , which then makes then stop going .

It was hijacked and robbed by the Fort Wayne semi state bandits!!!!!!!

As a footnote and answer to the question the last 5 state champs from Fort Wayne city schools were

1998 Talamantes dwenger and Lapsley from snider

2001 Greg Wagner snider

2002 graylan early north side and Jason Woodson snider

Obviously winning a state title is the ultimate pinnacle and only one guy wins each year per weight. But looking back at the history(thanks y2 for all the data at our fingertips) of the 3 teams mentioned homestead, Carroll and Leo (2 of those are 6a schools by the way) . There were a total of 4 state champs between the 3 of them and 2 of those were 30 years ago. So I will take a reach here and say #makenortheastindianawretlinggreatagain....or better yet #makeallencountywrestlinggreatagain

no frustration here since I know neither kid and as I mentioned was not there. What I do know is there are officials who feel they need to decide outcomes as you mentioned. and those are the ones I am talking about just let the kids wrestle. You refs know who you are ......................you are the ones who are getting booed way more than the other refs lol

I didn't see it either but just hate to see a match that is obviously super close get decided by a stalling call...for me it would have to be some very blatant going backward to justify deciding the entire outcome of that close match with one call

It's always a bad call if an official decides the outcome in a match like that ....... Just let them wrestle the best kid will win !!!!!!!!

Dang too bad you always did a nice job on it in my opinion. I wish I would have known the general and I could have put it together for the fans. Of course we may have sounded biased as well .

Yes it is a very solid group and all six of the 160 pounders mentioned are seniors .So also a very experienced group. Should be some great wrestling in that class for sure.

The lower weight classes will have some good matches. My best bet is from 120-145.[/

 

 

Those look like they should all be competitive and 160 is going to be exciting for sure
