This is with the new numbers for the 2024-25, 2025-26 cycle. Numerous teams moved up and down between 1A and 2A. Cascade is so far up into 2A and Rensselaer so far down into 1A that neither is even really a cut line team.
All good.
We thought that might be the case. Same goals, New Division, we are up to the challenge!

Weaker schedules get kids better seeds more times then replacing kids. It is what it is. It will never be perfect.
Agreed never perfect. When you travel out of state, wrestle all over chasing that tough competition that some schools dont have the opportunity to, you do loose some seeding criteria. It is what it is and like you said not perfect.
But are you saying you okay with teams exploiting the replacing a seeded wrestler rule intentionally?

What's to gain here? Eliminating a 2 or 3 seed earlier so they don't score the team points?
Say by seeding criteria the actual starter may be a 4 seed. On the top side of the bracket.
But they think they have a better chance at beeting the 2 and 3 seed to make the finals.
Then they exploit this rule. Get thier kid on the bottomside of the bracket and take thier chances.

Wonder how many coaches are exploiting the rule around replacing a seeded wrestler last minute and droping thier replacement into the 6th seed spot.
Rule is a rule, fine i get it. But i have seen soo many times that magically the actual starter wasnt seeded. In turn a JV wrestler is seeded with a decent record. Always just barely over the 10 match limit too oddly enough.
Then before the tournament here comes the actual starter and is dropped into the bottom side of the bracket with the 2 and 3 seeds for all 3 to fight it out.
This is not what the rule was intended for, but is exploited year after year. This year will be no different.

Dont sleep on Charlie "aka Chuck" Hutchison. Weight Unknown
Just a kid that has been focused on less competition, growing at all costs, and having fun on the mat scoring points. Anyone that knows him knows he cant be slept on. Excited to see his continued progress and his HS debut in 2023/24.
He has a couple big brothers that he keep him honest and he is dialing in. He has a no fear, send it style that is fun to watch.
I may be "biased" of course. But looking forward to watching him compete next year!

Coach, Bburg rolling today?

If your a coach looking for a change or an assistant looking to take on your own program.
Does it get any better of an opportunity than Cascade right now?
24-2 HS Duals Record. 32-2 MS Dual record. Back to back MS & HS Conference Champs.
Back to Back 1A IHSWCA Team State appearances. Locked for 2023-24 Team State.
Large and established Youth Program.
Seems like a pretty soft and exciting landing for the right coach!
Am I right?

Both are good wrestlers but I’ve seen Hutchinson lose to Kemper with Kemper winning pretty easily and Kemper cannot even get close to taking Pretchel down. Just my opinion. I believe he will major Hutchinson at least
At the end of the day our opinions dont matter. These boys will scrap it out on Sat.
Mid season losses and commons do not mean much to me. Last year Hutchison lost 10-2 early season to Neuman and took it to SV in the ticket round later in the year.
Its all who is ready and shows up on Sat and matchups are certainly a big deal.
Goof luck to all involved.

Tommy is an absolute stud and a great kid to boot.
I can promise you one thing, Mr. May wanted any draw but Tommy.
Be the bad draw!
