Something I haven't understood the last few years is why we have consolation matches wrestling matches with a 1 minute first period. In my opinion, I think its silly. You have guys that are still competing for spots in the next weeks tournaments. I guess I can see it maybe in local tournaments but when it comes to the state series I feel like it should be 2-2-2. Anyone know why it is this way??
Was considering a name change! Clearly a score keeper gets more respect than your average "Towelboy" Will I need admin approval for such a name change?
An official today informed us that he had warned a wrestler for fleeing the mat. I'm not sure on this was looking for clarification, but I was under the impression that if you are fleeing the mat its a point, not a warning. He had told the score keepers to mark it down as a warning similar to a stalling call, as if to say if it happens again it will be a point. Does anyone know the "official" ruling on this??
I have to say i was a fan of ayersmans reaction. a huuuuuge comeback that 99% of people would have went crazy after a comeback win like that. However he was very humble...it was cool to see.
I would say Alex. Watching both of them the biggest difference i notice is when they wrestle neutral. Jason looks like he loves to snap a wrestler into a front head and score from there (which he is incredible at) but watching alex i feel like he was so good neutral that him getting stuck in a front head would be a rare scenario.. I would give the advantage to Alex due to neutral wrestling ability.
Watching the matches this weekend it struck me that it felt like once we got to the semi final matches, that both stalling and stalemate were called much quicker than friday night matches and quater final matches. Now i'm not complaning at all. I felt for the most part officiating was pretty good this weekend. But it just felt like the consistancy was a little off. Anyone else notice this?
Jackson is one of the quickest neutral wrestlers i have seen...takes people down at will. looking forward to the match, but i'm going with jackson...thats assuming the match happens!
hahaha to comment on the shorts. If it's ok i would LOVE to wear my casual pair of Jorts...Jean shorts for those unfamiliar with the terminology. Possibly mid thigh light fringe on the bottom of it..i will do this if you guys promise not to start a post about it! See you in Indy...i will be in the shorts!
As far as being in Indiana i liked the one down at wabash college! Great facility's the coaches down there get great guys down there to show some technique and there was a lot of kids down there for the competition camp!
I Know one of his losses came from Josh Ehr at the ECIC Tournament. I believe meska was still wrestling 45 and ehr had dropped to that weight class for the tournament. But i have to say Meska is going to be tough to beat if he continues to wrestle like he did saturday, he was very impressive. Solid wrestler all the way around.
totally classless they should of had there coaching passes revoked and bared from any tournament for 3 years....i'm more concerned about watching a young man fighting from his back in his match and watching BOTH COACHES sit back in there seats, hands on top of there heads..not even yelling. there wrestler was in the lead prior to being put on his back...however they did have nice slacks on, so they should get some mercy...
i dont know i forgot about this, congrats to Keuneke wrestled great coming out and pinning former state qualifer Busz, and then winning his ticket round match!!
