The real question is after it's held at the Ford Center, does the IHSAA ever move it back?
As my kids say "It'll be bussin'"

The real state finals already happens at The Ford Center, the IHSAA just does the next weekend to avoid litigation.

I don’t see qualifying at 160 being an issue. Pierre better than every opponent in that weight class besides Kemper. Awful draw but he’ll be fine with it and come back to take third.

The stalling call was a poor call IMO, but definitely not an uncommon one. And yes, Jesse had definitely been the more agressive wrestler.
Folkstyle wrestling is not Freestyle. You don't get a point for pushing your opponent off the mat. It is actually supposed to be stalling on the wrestler doing the pushing if they are not actually working for a TD. Yet you see so many wrestlers who simply attempt to push their opponent off the mat while never taking any type of shot. You see this constantly from Iowa wrestlers with their coaches & fans screaming for stalling.
If officials would actually start calling stalling on wrestlers who are doing this rather than rewarding them for it, you would see a lot less of it. But more importantly, it would stop coaches from teaching it. It is not unsimilar to how you use to see wrestlers who would always want to wrestle at the edge of the mat & simply flee out of bounds when they got into trouble. The emphasis on calling stalling for fleeing the mat coupled with the new out of bounds rules in college (which aren't very new anymore) has pretty much eliminated this technique. But more importantly it got coaches to stop teaching it.
Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack this thread about Jesse. And it was not like this was happening in this match. Jesse was being agressive and taking territory, but he was looking & working for shot opportunities. And Ragusin was not simply backing off the mat, he was circling back in or at least attempting to. Then in an instant, the tables were turned & Jesse had his back to the edge & Ragusin pushed him out. IMO, the official should have signaled continuous action. Ragusin didn't push Jesse from the center all the way off the mat & Jesse was defintely not fleeing the mat in an attempt to avoid a TD.

Just my 2 cents...
The teams that are listed as IHSWCA Team Duals State Champs do have a title.
I realize that those aren't official titles per IHSAA, but...
Clearly the best measure of a team is through a dual tournament format.
