And something we found out that at semi and state their is only one alternate excepted.  Regardless, if the 2nd alternate or 3rd alternate is ready and can make weight.  The winter bulletin and the IHSAA think it is a better idea for a FF to be in place than a kid getting a chance to wrestle at state.  Just an awful rule and not very well thought out...I know not many coaches I talked to did not know about the guidelines in the bulletin.  But it does state that Sectionals to Regionals is the only place a 2nd alternate comes into play.  Regional to semi state and semi state to state is only one kid has a chance to be alternate...after that it goes to FF.  So unless you are 1st alternate you are done.

Hudkins made weight then was takenoto the hospital after due to illness. The other was a kid not wrestling and the alternate was too much over weight to wrestle.

Why were the 2,3,4 seeds not moved up in seeding order?

It must be that once weigh-in is complete, they don't move the seeds.  Otherwise:

-- Schermer would have moved up to the top of the bracket and probably would have met Glogouski in the quarters.

--Lahue would have moved to Schermer's spot and most likely seen Knapp in the quarters with a shot at not seeing Red till the semi's (and arguably would have had an easier first round match and maybe not have gotten hurt).

--Johnson would have moved to LaHue's spot against Rodriguez and Sinko ends up with an alternate opponent and we all miss out on perhaps the most exciting final 30 seconds of a match in the tournament (Johnson over Sinko).

Anyway, a lot of "what-ifs" had Hudkins not made weight or not weighed in at all.
