lpd096
There was an error with 75....Jake Tucker was 3rd, he defeated Davis 12-4. Rex has since corrected the error in Trackwrestling.

swrebel
The way the tournament was setup is a very bad way to get the two guys for Team Indiana! In my opinion the top two guys at 85 were Chandler and Cody. Cody got first and Chandler third just because they were in the same pool. Had they been in opposite pools they would have wrestled for the championship. Pool B was loaded with several pretty good kids and both Chandler and Cody looked good against them. I have seen the second place kid wrestle and he is good, but I don't think he was good enough to beat either Cody or Chandler. They should have cross wrestled the bracket at least to get the two best wrestlers.
cyoung
Based upon the situation you just described, the 3rd place boy would have had the opportunity to wrestle the boy that won the other bracket, but lost the championship, for a true 2nd place. The tournament did allow for the top 2 guys to make it out.
jlittlejohn
The way it was structured was that... #1 Pool A vs. #1 Pool B = 1st & 2nd #2 Pool A vs. #2 Pool B = 3rd & 4th 5th & 6th were detemined by total classification points; no match was wrestled for those places. If 2nd & 3rd had not wrestled (opposite Pools) 3rd could/should challenge for true 2nd. I thought that Chandler Carroll did challenge and beat Ethan Wampler for 2nd. swrebel
The brackets I printed out had Wampler as second and Chandler as third. Maybe it wasn't up-dated or maybe the information was unable to be entered that way into Track wrestling. I hope what you are saying is correct because it would be a shame for him not to have had the opportunity just because of the luck of the draw. jlittlejohn
I'm about 99.9999% positive. I spoke with Wampler's dad just after the challenge match.
cyoung
I know for certain that the brackets are not updated to show the true 2nd place challenge matches. One of our boys, Ben Harvey, wrestled back for 2nd place and he is listed as being a 3rd place finisher. I'm sure that challenge match happened, and I'm also 99.99999% sure Mr. Littlejohn is correct that it went as he said.
DanGski
If they place out to 6th place they should of done just that, My boy beat the kid who took 6th place head to head we lost to the 1 and 2 guy , the points should not matter unless they wrestle the same kids. It was already late when we left what is 30 more minutes?? Just my thoughts
TossYaHard
They have got the results on ISWA but they are wrong... they just copied it off trackwrestling and track did not show the wrestle backs or the kids who placed 5th and 6th. I hope Rex gives them the updated placers with the full 6 man placement. after that long of a meet the kids deserve to be recognised to 6th place. TossYaHard
at 117 they have it wrong.... Adam Garcia challanged Zack Mroczkowski for 2nd and garcia won...ISWA is showing Zack at 2nd when it should be Adam.... I know they will correct the standings for the whole meet soon. cyoung
Yes, the results on the ISWA page are wrong. The kids who wrestled back for true 2nd are not represented on there. Also, the team scores have not been posted. I realize that pulling off a meet with that many kids is a difficult task, and the meet itself ran smoothly. However, as a coach that was there for nearly 14 hours and a teamful of boys that worked very hard, a team score and accurate individual results would be very much appreciated. italianmom
Since Middle School State was a qualifier for the Middle School Duals team, placement was only going to 4th place, so true seconds matches could be wrestled. No other placments were given. I worked in pairings all day and the program was not set up to place anyone past the two pools meeting for 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th. In the two upper weights where there weren't pools, placement only went to 3rd. If placement after 4th was going to be noted, there would have been many special bouts to determine who would be wrestling for 5th/6th. ISWA was trying to get the information out to the public quickly, not realizing that the true second matches were not noted on track wrestling. As soon as that information is available, ISWA will have accurate records on their website. If I recall from last year, team results took almost a week to be announced. Hang in there everyone. Working on the inside, it was a fun tournament to be a part of. There was a lot of exciting wrestling and the exciting wrestling couldn't happen without great coaches. TossYaHard
Hey ItalianMom... I know track only places to 4th but.... Rex was announcing all day that they would place to 6th place with the 3rd place finisher in each brackett not wrestling but to be decided by points they scored for the type of victory they has in each match. The wrestler who had the most points would take 5th. Rex also said medals or ribbons...I dont remember which...would be mailed to the 5th and 6th place finisher. From 1 Italian to another ;D you said you worked pairings......Great Job all day!!!! Jeff Negrelli Merrillville Pirate Wrestling
