Do you think the IHSAA cares who wins state or do you think they care about butts in the seats? You should stop looking at it through rose colored fan glasses. This isn't about appeasing fans!

How does Pioneer look?

I'm not saying there shouldn't be a penalty for late signups. However 70.00 doesn't only encourage one not to sign up late it also encourages those folks who honestly miss the signups not to even come. Which lowers the numbers. I just think the 70 fee is steep even for a rich guy like you Joe . I truly think the reasoning behind lack of numbers in Freestyle and Greco are due in large part to all year around Folkstyle opportunities.

Proven? facts? So to get after the "crazy" parents as you called them you jack up the price so that if someone simply didn't register on time and doesn't have an ulterior motive. Not everyone has an agenda. But I guess.

I wasn't implying anything about The state of Indiana. My point is $35.00 for a family that may not be "serious" wrestler is a lot of money. Gas prices, hotel stay, spectator fee, Food. I am just saying that it gets to be costly, then to top it off you charge $70.00 for Late Registrants? That more than anything is what I really don't get. I get that a couple hundred Late signups can slow things down, but I think the Cons for having this late fee outweigh anything postive for having it.

This was the first season that the state of wisconsin used the all coaches had to have usa card. That money didn't go to the state that went to USA Wrestling. Actually Wisconsin took a hit because they used to chargd those coaches 10.00 to get a wristband to coach. With USA card those folks now get in free. Yes Tom serious wrestling people will continue to go, however is that all we care about is the serious wrestler? I hope not or our sport will surley die. The Extra money Wisconsin makes on card sells isn't set aside for a rainey day it is use to make the Fargo trips and Duals around $500.00 combined. My numbers may be a little off but I know im really close.

Yea lack of advertising and promotion is the reason Freestyle is not thriving in Indiana. Come on really? I can agree with the Folkstyle push about 10-15 years in the state has helped the decline of Freestyle and Greco, but not Promoting. As far as Cost for Gymnastics and Hockey yea so? That why those sports don't have high particiaption it cost too darn much. For those of you who think cost isn't a factor There is some beachfront property I want to sell in the Indy area. Oh and thanks for the boo points

I still have to ask why does it cost $35.00 for 1 style? $70.00 for late registration? talk about cutting ones throat. It cost me $35.00 dollars to have my child wrestle in both styles last year. Will cost$42.00 dollars for both styles this year due to they moved the state meet to Chula Vista in the Dells. Its Still a lot cheaper. Why does it cost so much in Indiana? Tim

I think to go inline with your thoughts about rewarding the risk Greco. Takedowns should be worth 2 not 1 and if you take a shot and score the takedown but get exposed while earning your takedown currently you will be trailing 2-1. That would be a change I would love to see getting 2 for the takdown and giving up 1 for being exposed on a shot. To me the way it is set up offensive is not being rewarded the way defensive is.

IHSWCA switch gears? No way ! This happened about 10 years ago, when it was voted on by over 90% to go for class team duals. After thinking on it and feeling that the IHSAA would not give into this they added the wrestlebacks as a part of their proposal. Of course the IHSAA told them the IHSWCA that they don't even know what they want they scrapped the Classed Team part and forged on with the wrestlebacks. Now I don't think ill toward those who decided it. I do however think that the IHSAA thinks the IHSWCA has no backbone and will not fight very long for what the membership really wants. I have heard it from a few principals and an AD that is on the board that the IHSWCA is wishy washy at best and changes their fight every other year. Why not stay the course for what ya believe in? Quit changing your stance and taking less than what ya really want. The IHSAA know they can take whatever they want away from the wrestling community because the Membership will accept it and settle for less. Just my two cents. Tim Spray -

What is the official end date for the season? It can be called club .. even if its 1 week after if the last date is the indvidual finals.. Not sure what the ihsaa could do about it.. -

I am not privy to all the talk in Indiana wrestling anymore. However is it too much manpower to run a class dual team format for the entire series or just a weekend? Why not look acrcoss the state after all of the conferences are done and Form a dual format after the individual state is over with. They way you qualify as a team is you had to win your conference, you class it from there based on what ever school enrollment you choose. Tim -

Why the stiff cost of $35.00? It cost $32.00 for both styles together here in Wisconsin. Why so much? Are the rental costs that high? I couldn't see how the expenses could differ all that much.
