    i saw he made it to the championship match .. and then was beat there by some kat from michingan?.. he got pinned?.. if so .. did he get dominated.. or was it luck?.. what gives.. anyone have any information on this? how was his atittude afterwards?

    i'm pretty sure Bubba Dickerson .. heavyweight from new castle pinned everyone at state.. back in the day

    that jackson kid has a heck of a motor!.. never stopped working..and taking the fight to tsirtsis.. i was really suprised to see tsirtsis lay on his belly a couple times holding onto a single.. not trying to pick it up ..or drive through .. seemed like he was running on empty .. those two kids going at it .. would be fun to watch 10 times in a row

    i think it takes a lot of guts for a single person to get out there in front of thousands of people and sing.. all eyes on you .. i think she gave it her all .. sang really well for the most part.. but i think she might have tried to get as loud as she possibly could and her voice wasn't having it.. again .. lots of guts.. showed character for her to continue .. even after she knew it wasn't going as well as she wanted .. i can definitely say i wouldnt want to be out there!.. .. maybe she can come back next year!!!!

    i totally agree again!!.. a huge example is the semis with beck and cambell .. beck threw a leg in .. and simply laid on top .. every 20 seconds or so would try a power half.. never got off the hips once.. and never tried anything different .. i thought that was terrible!

    ok .. great.. thats the way i assumed it went.. .. wasn't sure though since tsirtsis wrestled quiorga last year in the semi's.. mullins and quiorga both obviously from the new castle semi state .. thanks

    i thought for sure Atwood was going to walk through the competition this year.. what an awesome job by Johnson-Jones.. great athlete!!

    i'd really like to know from anyone .. how the state brackets are drawn?.. are certain semi states pitted against eachother by design?.. or is it totally random? for example.. lets say tsirtsis and mullins are in the same weight class the next two years.. ..and since they both will more than likely win their semi states.. will they always meet in the semi's? or will they ever be in different brackets? how is it done.. answers?.. thanks!

    i agree.. .. although the refs did call stalling and fleeing the mat a little bit more this year.. there were a lot of stalls that went uncalled.. i feel a ref knows when a kid is simply trying to kill time.. and should immediately call it.. i understand there is a bit of strategy playing into it.. but thats when the refs need to enforce the "rules" immediately to keep the match going!

    if you were watching the match .. you know that neither kid was on their back before duckworth had his head driven into the mat.. it was a great wizzer.. .. both kids were aggressive..it was a great half a period to watch .. we all know the way the match was wrestled after the fall .. was different.. and again .. i'm not saying the outcome of the match would have been different.. i'm saying the way it was wrestled would have been different..

    BB145 .. so you are telling me that you didnt see a change in duckworths performance after the head thump he took? i've watched duck wrestle all year long .. he is in our conference.. he has never wrestled that way .. i'm not saying that the outcome would have been different.. i'm saying the way the match was wrestled would have been different.. .. and yes congrats to stein .. he looked great all tourney long!

    well im pretty sure the entire crowd saw steins crippling wizzer that drove duckworths head into the mat . i could hear the thump in the upper deck .. and afterwards duckworth wasn't himself at all . even had noodle legs a couple times coming back to the center.. taking nothing away from stein .. b/c he wrestled a great match . but i wish the duckworth wouldnt have thumped his head..

    yea mishiwaka is definitely the deepest team .. .. can't help but think back to an earlier topic of discussion .. someone posted that mishiwaka's team could beat an Indiana all star team .. hmmmm.. they had zero individual state champs.. soo .. i'm thinking .. thats a no go ..

    can't take anything away from stein or his coaches.. or the fans or anything... he wrestled great.. was aggressive.. and took the fight to duckworth .. however.. i think the entire crowd understands the impact of the head thump duckworth took during the first period during a scramble.. stein had a tight wizzer... and dropped duck on his head.. didnt seem like duckworth was his normal self afterwards.. even had noodle legs a couple times .. i felt it showed great character for him to finish the match rather than lay down arms.. ... stein did what he needed to do .. which was win!..

    and dont get me wrong .. i'm a huge phillips fan .. he wrestles in our mostly 1A conference ..its nice to see small schools come up ! i'm just sayin .. that mistakes like that.. can cost you the title.. agreed?

    very true.. yet you still dont understand my point.. it takes a split second to get pinned.. whether that be a dominating performance.. or a "lucky" throw.. .. ... for all we know.. phillips might have been pinned for a super split second before the ref was able to get in position to see.. .. what i'm saying is.. its going to take a stellar performance from all the athletes at state to win .. .. major mistakes like that.. juuuuuuust might loose your title....

    i agree.. .. but its mistakes like that.. are what can cost you your title.. never know how it will go down right?.. just sayin .. . for the first time .. phillips looked mortal

    not that i think for one second that phillips will loose his title.. buuuuut .. for those of you who weren't at the new castle semi state.. Levi Moss had Phillips on his back late in the third period.. and phillips only won 17-14 ................ seems like thats kinda flown under the radar... lookin forward to an incredible 103 class this year!

    ahhhhhh .. last year cashe..and tsirtsis semi's.. ths year mullins and tsirtsis simi's.. can't they just make an exception sometimes and put them in different brackets. geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez@!

    ahh .. well .. if they choke their opponents out .. then kuddos for them!!!.. that means their opponent is weak.. and can't go their knees...and stay square... and grab three fingers and break/rip the hand away!!!.. force should be met with force!.. this sport isn't nice!

    NC has lots of quality wrestlers but only in my opnion 3 studs that can compete at conseco (fellers, campbell, and mullins) they must juggle their line up alot cuz they have some good tourneys it just doesnt make sense bennet with only 2 losses? got third at his conference. wasson with 1? with just a decision at conference over a .500 record wrestler? and coach peckinpaw? hahahah spelling. seems like a great guy but i have seen him throw temper tantrums if the match is not going his way and has instructed his kids to use the football carry. i dont think thats very professional at all. i've seen state championships won with half nelsons.. ....... whats wrong with the football carry?.......... a win is a win correct?.. no matter how you go about it!.. .. quiorez or however you spell it.. from chesterton rode the spiral ride into a cyclone all the way to the state championship match last year.. it worked.. .. so go with it.. who cares! ........ ....................... i guess if you know a certain move will work on certain kids.. you wouldnt "instruct" them to do it? riiiiiiiiiiiight
