  1. Corsaro...WOW...hungry for a state title!
  2. I'm going to New Castle otherwise I would be all over your offer. Good food and an opportunity to support a wrestlers business...win win situation.
  3. Haha...thanks for the updates. Gonna be some good action at CG in a few weeks....can't wait.
  4. Why do they not seed the finals? It wouldn't be that hard to do, but I guess the IHSAA doesnt care. They are only worried about crowning the champ. Lol Franklin and Penn should meet in the semi finals at the earliest.
  5. "He was right for the beating, but you didnt want to beat him, you didn't want to beat him, you didn't want to beat him!" -Dan Gable
  6. I have heard many coaches on this forum say"sometimes kids have to recruit the college" instead of colleges recruiting the kids. I believe this holds true for our very good (but not great) Indiana wrestlers who don't have the tournament series success but are fundamentally sound wrestlers. Does "making it to state" in class 3A or 2A make you a better wrestler ( more fundamentally sound, stronger, tougher, better college prospect) than being a semi state qualifier in a one class system? No, not in my opinion.(I.e.- It doesn't improve your skill level by having a more prestigious title...you still have to go prove yourself on the mat at all these colleges that are now going to magically recruit you because you are a classed state qualifier) Do some leg work and make a video, contact some D2, D3, NAIA schools in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and if all else fails go walk on somewhere and prove your mettle. Class wrestling will not grow our sport by leaps and bounds. Indiana is growing and proving itself as it is. It ain't broke...don't try to fix it.
  7. First 1:30 both guys feeling each other out... Then James gets in on a nice single leg. Wilson tries to turn and pull leg away and goes out of bounds in the process...fleeing the mat called (call could have gone either way IMO) 1-0 James after 1 Wilson chooses down and gets ridden by James the whole 2nd period ( only a couple times where Wilson threatened to get away). James is tough on top ( duh) 1-0 after 2 James takes down. I believe Wilson cut him (2-0 James) and they went neutral. Some good action on their feet by both. Wilson hits a snap and spins behind for 2 (Wilson has to be the quickest kid in the state). Wilson cuts James again (3-2 James). Then Wilson hits a similar move and spins behind again for 2 with approx 15 seconds left and rides him out. Great match between two of Indiana's finest. Please correct me if I was wrong on how the match went down. That's what at recall.
  8. Did your son end up wrestling D1? If not, maybe it was justified that he was snubbed by D1 coach. Most D1 wrestlers from Indiana are multiple SQs and usually state champs as well.
  9. Great match yesterday between these two tough competitors. Definitely worth the price of admission. Looking forward to a rematch possibly the next two weeks. Nice job fellas.
  10. Although it would be nice to have big numbers, it is not necessary to compete. BTW- Ive never heard State Champ Coach McCormick complaining about an unfair advantage.
  11. Tonte vs Stewart Didn't they have a close match already?
  12. We should have gotten special treatment when we wrestled Perry and Warren and Carmel and Center Grove. We should have had our own class. It's not fair! Waaahhhhhhhhh
  13. I came from a school with no wrestling room. We rolled the mats out in the cafe every night and put them back up. Produced plenty of state qualifiers, finalists, and a few champs. But sorry to rain on your pity parade. Cry on..
  14. Still the same weight as the other guy...
  15. Absolutely, positively, NO CLASSED SYSTEM.......man up or go play basketball...
  16. Congrats to Micic and Boston. Has anyone been to the Rose Bowl of Wrestling before? Is it hard to get a ticket? I assume not since it is in Pitts field house. Just curious...
  17. Johnson lost to first place kid. Smiley lost to second place kid (different sectional) but not the first place kid in his sectional. Slight chance...lol You and maligned are probably right...
