    There has been recent talk of changing the system in Idaho to a many class system depending on how many forfeits there are at 98lbs. If there were say 14 wrestlers in the weight than the ideal amount of classes would be 14...with separation of the 14 98lb wrestlers to each class giving these kids with such obvious handicaps the best path to becoming champions...after all it IS about the kids!!!

    Ader from Roncalli went from JV to State in the same season...sounds like an achievable accomplishment for "The Lawrence Kid".

    Congratulations Louis!! I can't think of many events where I have not run into you...if there was one my guess would be you were at a different event. We've all seen how tirelessly you work for our great sport and your contributions and those of people with dedication as strong as yours are what have made our sport so great. You truly are an ambassador to wrestling and deserve this honor and many more.

    Obviously the european champ has great defense which will help us out... how is her offensive attack? Is she favored? In a strange twist my prayers have now shifted to the european...lol

    My prayers are in Kayla!! That all matches(not just yours) are wrestled safely and called justly. Soak it in and have fun. Here's a little something I have recited often in my career...not to say we aren't skilled enough to win...I've just always liked it. In the last analysis, mind triumphs over matter and the will to win is more crucial than the skill to win.~Medved Wishing you a safe return with your new precious metal medal.

    It took me a while but tennis would have been a better example...lol I believe you are correct about the parade of champions.

    IMO In individual sports state finalists just means participants in the state tournament not necessarily that you have made the finals of the tournament. State finalists in swimming aren't only the champ and runner up. Maybe not the best example but wrestling is the only individual sport that's mano a mano(man to man not hand to hand)...that I can think of.
