  1. When I was in high school in the mid '70s, SB St Joe had a 6'7" guy playing on the girls volleyball team. I think he helped them make it to Semi-State. I think I heard that there was a change in the rules so that can't happen again. Someone might be able to shed some more light on this.
  2. www.priceline.com I have used it the past six years for the football state championships. I usually get a room for about $60 a night. And I don't even try until the week of Thanksgiving. Be sure you bid on a room. Don't take one of their canned deals.
  3. Not so sure about that. Didn't Campbell get to State without being scored upon in '68? Pretty impressive. Then there is Konrath. Easily could have been the best at Jimtown if he would have had his head on straight his Senior year. Beat Stahl 4 times that year only to tank in the State meet. Stahl has to be greatful, AND laughing as he looks at his State Championship medal.
  4. Fearless Fly is the MAN!!!!!! 8) Don't be dissing him. > > >
  5. I second that. My last is a Sophomore. Less than 2 1/2 years and I'm an "Empty Nester." :-X :-X
  6. Yes. A decline in: "Little League" Baseball. Not "Youth" Baseball. The other options also include: Babe Ruth Baseball, Cal Ripken Baseball, and the "Travelling" Baseball teams. There are still over 2.2 million participants. Not too shabby.
  7. Are you sure you're not "Fearless Fly" incognito?????? ;D ;D
  8. YES!!!!!!! The -1 came from Jimtown!!!!!!!!!
  9. WHO THE HECK IS SEAN McMURPHY????????? ;D ;D ;D Gotta love those newspaper guys. (Scroll through all of the pictures.)
  10. Are you saying that the State could do a better job than the IHSAA???? I'm not too fond of the IHSAA either. But to think the State could do better with an appointed council??????? I would have to differ on that one. ??? ??? ???
  11. Yeah... My thoughts too. Makes you wonder about Duck. :-X
  12. Actually Friday night down at Indy. I've only heard things second hand. But it wasn't a good thing.
  13. Yeah. Then Konrath decided to melt-down the night before State. Heart. You gotta have Heart.
  14. Don't overlook Mishawaka Marian's 215, Robert Deering. He won the CMA tournament with only a half of a year of wrestling this year. Give him a full year next year as a Junior and it is going to be a battle to get out of the South Bend Sectional at 215.
  15. Nick Crume of Jimtown. 4th in 112 at Fort Wayne.
  16. For what it's worth. I heard that he already had some really good relationships with a lot of Mishawaka wrestlers from off-season wrestling. Add that with the power of Mishawaka's program, and it makes it a no-brainer. (We would have loved him to come to Jimtown.)
  17. Good job IHSAA!! I think this is the best outcome we could have hoped for. Go Get'um wrestlers!!!
  18. You gave Yorktown the points at 140 for Eddy's MD. That would make it Mishawaka 34-26 over Yorktown.
  19. Then can I get a couple of Wahoos????? Also.... Can we put the schools, Weight classes and high school year class in the posts? 8)
  20. I'm late to the discussion. Wouldn't you only class the TEAM tourney????
  21. Who are they. Nick Crume 112, Freshman Collin Crume 130, Junior. Any others?
  22. Watch out for Deering of Mishawaka Marian. He is a transfer from Jimtown, and is making some waves. He just won the 215 class at the Culver Military Tourney this past weekend. He has to wrestle Lentz in the second round, they both have byes, so I would expect him to wrestle back tough in the loser's bracket.
