Wrestling season is finally here again. I have been waiting since 2-19-10. Time to go represent SB Clay at Conseco, and bring home a state title.

Last year, my grandson lifted weights, and participated in as many tournaments as he could, he went to mishawakas as well as clays wrestling room. He was a regional qaulifier as a freshman and now he's a state qaulifier as a sophmore. All i can tell u is lift weights, run, and get around to as many tournaments as you can, 20-25 matches could be a season, so say for instance your a freshman and u get 20 matches in the regular season on varsity, during off season u get twenty more matches ( so this acts as your sophmore season ) then your sophmore year comes around and your wrestling like a junior, mat time and technique drills helped him out alot this year!

Mishawaka High School and coach Snyder open up there wrestling room around march or april, the competition there is great competition, u get kids all over the state there!

I understand where everybody is coming from though. . . but i like the new format, there is no possible way i would vite against it, the same amount of matches and time for both frmats, im just a fan of the top four

Well maybe if they were the best then they would be in the top 4, no one tells them to get the third or fourth seed at regionals

What do u mean it doesnt mean anything? Thats a big deal espicially coming out of the Merillville semi state! Everybody deserves the chance to participate, even the #4 SEED!, but thats if they make it, and obviously these #4 seeds did, u can never say that taking the #4 seed out will make for "better" wrestling, cause anything could happen on any given day

Danny Abu-shehad, Danny Rodriquez and Joe Gallegos were all 4 seeds coming out of regionals, and they all qaulified for state! Gallegos will make it out the first round as he has already beaten Grubb early this year 7-2, i know it doesnt mean to much though, thats why they wrestle

Gallegos V.S. the winner of Knura and Buchanan should be a good saturday night match, Gallegos has been wrestling at a completely different style since sectionals, i see him placing in the top 4

Two area Sophmores (Gallegos) and (Reagan) both made it to state as sophmores. One didnt make it out of sectionals and the other one coming of a 19-14 record and not making it out of regionals. The time they put in, in the offseason is insurmountable! Look for next year for these two kids to headline the 215 pound class, I wouldnt be surprised if one of them walk away with the state title next season. Good Luck to both friday night!!
