  1. I was in the Mater Dei section for the finals and to their credit, it was the young fans in their group that were booing Cash. Though the adults weren't quick to tell them to cut it out. Lee was taking it to Cash in that match and was in complete control. I loved the mental toughness of Cash. A lot of kids would've been beaten after that first period. Cash displayed the toughness and determination of a senior who has been there before and kept coming with everything he had. Glad to see him end his career with a second title. Joe Lee has a great career ahead of him and I can't wait to see it.
  2. You're going to complain about a service that is free of charge to you? There is one camera for four matches. Can't see it all. Get over it.
  3. Thanks for doing this! Watching from Indy. Just so you know, your audio is on right now, so we can hear everything.
  4. This is just speculation on my part (as I never came anywhere near anything resembling the pressure of nationals), but what was at stake probably made him more hesitant. I'd imagine that a single mistake could cost you a national championship (like tripping, for instance) weighs pretty heavy in the minds of these guys. We see this year in and year out in the finals when explosive offensive wrestlers take it back a notch in the state championship match. A glaring example this year would be Corsaro. Regardless, Adam had an incredible season and made Indiana wrestling proud! Great season Adam!
  5. I'm not defending any particular coaches here, but to say that Chalfant didn't improve is a crime. He was a one time state champ primarily because he was a man among boys his senior year. He developed into a complete wrestler at IU with a very slick offense for a big man. And he could have been a national champ at IU. He lost to the champion in the semi finals because he tripped and fell! He just as easily could have won that match and had already beaten Nelson once this year. Have to give credit where credit is due.
  6. If memory serves me correctly, Penn's wrestling room is upstairs :-\
  7. Every coach I've encountered has been a big supporter of off season freestyle wrestling. They teach it in their rooms during the off season. They coach kids from other schools. You need to eat a Snickers, bud.
  8. Reitz was as tough as they come on top. The kid is like glue! Schurg had some good funk in his quarterfinals matchup with Carroll at the end of the third. Carroll got in really deep on two shots and Schurg created some great scrambles out of it.
  9. Somebody told me that McCormick had a torn meniscus.
  10. Will we be lucky enough to get a dance off down on the mats this year? Maybe even a big man with some slick moves (Chico Adams style)? Who should we be watching to see the best moves on the dance floor?
  11. It isn't on Bourbon Street...and they don't distill anything there. But this place is excellent! One of the better burgers I've had in the last year.
  12. I don't think there's a way to measure that.
  13. Not to mention he also takes the cake when it comes to best headgear!
  14. The Hanover Central kid looked as good as anyone on Saturday. He beat Woods in the finals.
  15. Thacker vs Woods is going to be an absolute battle. That's the match I'm looking forward to most on Friday night.
  16. Attempting to justify your trash behavior. Just shows how grown up you truly are. How would you have reacted after facing thousands of adults booing you over a three year span when you were 17 or 18? I'm sure you would have shaken each one of their hands with a smile on your face. Is flipping them off the right thing to do? No. But we're talking about kids reacting to the deplorable behavior of adults. I don't recall which year it was, but I saw him have to take a puff from his inhaler 30 seconds into the match at semi state. Of course the gym erupted in boos. One fan base in particular had some vulgar things to say. But the funny thing I heard was, "He's f*****g gassed! He's a cheater!" Yea, I'm sure a three time state qualifier and two time placer was absolutely gassed 30 seconds into a match, genius. To boo a kid ever is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. But to boo a kid for a medical problem or an injury? Unacceptable! If you do that you need to get your head checked and reevaluate what's important to you.
  17. Like I said, that's just what I heard. I don't know what their regulations on that are. And it seemed like the booing was aimed at the kid. Just my opinion. Sorry for getting this topic off course. Not trying to open up a can of worms. Great job to LN and their wrestler for toughing it out!
  18. That is a horrible way to end a season, but I don't think anybody wanted it to turn out that way. I saw the match and thought that the slam was enough to be called illegal. And I think that Hartman was clearly dazed pretty badly from it. I heard that the ref and trainer made the call to end the match, not the wrestler or coach. What really disturbed me was the 1,000+ adults that booed a child. We have to remember that these athletes, as great as they are, are still kids. And that stands for any match or any situation. Adults should not be booing children. Who impressed me the most in the entire situation was Gaige Torres. He didn't throw a fit. He took off his ankle band and shook his opponent's hand and walked off. That young man handled the whole deal with a great amount of class. Kudos to him. Looking forward to seeing him wrestle next season with a vengeance!
  19. Does she happen to be a supporter of South Bend Adams?

He wasn't backing up, he was being pushed. There is a large difference between the two.
  21. It actually reminded me a lot of the way George Malone from Riley got handled by the kid from Leo a few years ago. Malone was the returning champ and got manhandled in the semis. Petrov was on fire. I was really impressed by Todd's sportsmanship in defeat. Class kid.
  22. I also saw that. I wasn't surprised at all. I competed against Merrillville every year and witnessed Coach Maldonado act with nothing but class. He is the coach that impresses me most year after year. I didn't see the HH situation, but that is an incredible display of sportsmanship. I'll be cheering for HH from here on out.
