  1. How about a picture of a state gold medal surrounded by a collage of all the state qualifiers. Lets honor them all.
  2. Both kids benefit from the injury time out because they both get to take a breather. I just don''t like kids calling injury timeout when they are about to get scored on and the ref stops the match without awarding points. However, I have no solution for that either.
  3. From my understanding, they will be aired March 6th when the finals are aired on tv.
  4. We are truly sorry for your loss and forever grateful for what he has left behind. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. The Marion Wrestling Family

  7. Wow! All I was saying is anything is possible. The Title of this posts was Long Shots. And anyone who makes it to a state tournament has a legitimate shot regardless how long it is. Maybe I should have used the Ft Wayne Dwenger wrestler upsetting Josh Ehr and qualifying for the state tournament as an example. Just out of curiosity, how is my long shot any different than any other long shot listed in this post?
  8. Green Bay wasn't suppose to win the Super Bowl coming in as a six seed but look what they accomplished.
  9. Even though I don't consider him a long shot because I know what he is capable of doing, I believe Colin Downy (135) has a good shot at winning his weight class.
  10. Has anyone formed a committee to try to save team state? I have read alot of good ideas and some not so good on what needs to be done to save team state. My personal opinion is that the first thing we need to do to save team state is simply we need to boost the attendance this year. Now I know this isn't the solution but maybe we can buy us another year by increasing the revenue at this years team state. Then, lets get some of these great minds together and hammer out a plan that we feel would keep team state and generate revenue. Have this plan voted on by the coaches assosciation. Then once we have a plan in place, present the plan as a united front to the IHSAA. Now I know the IHSAA will do what they want but if we can raise the revenue at this event. They will have a hard time dropping the event for reasons of money. Again, this is just my opinion. Take it for what its worth.
  11. Downey has been wrestling extremely well the past couple of weeks. Hopefully, we'll see a different outcome. Either way, It will be a great match.
  12. What time do th team regionals at Logansport start tonight? Thanks in advance! ;D
  13. Bradley and Downey could meet in the semis at 135. Ranked 7th and 8th respectively.
  14. Ft Wayne 103: Bowman (3) 112: Walburn (3) 119: Busz (2) 125: Poynter (2) 130: Crume (2) 135: Bradley (2) 140: Faurote (3) 145: Heistand (1) 152: Schwartz (3) 160: Grogg (3) 171: Bratcher (1) 189: Siddons (3) 215: Chalfant (2) 285: Maine (3)
  15. 103: Seth Lloyd, Marion 35-3. Two of his losses were to Bowman and the third coming in a close match against Mock.
  16. I agree with you there, I was disputing the point that they only won it with 7 wrestlers. But any team in any sectional scores points the way they did will win their perspective sectional.
  17. 112 and 119 are just guesses. 125 Flores and Newsome will be a good match. Newsome only beat Flores earlier by two points at the Weston Close so I am going with Flores to get this win. With Workman, Two of the points that Workamn got were on stalling calls. But there were a couple of things I saw in the match that could give Flores an edge on Workman. Also, Flores earned his escape. At 189, Duke has wrestled Smith 3 times this year. Losing 7-4, 3-2, then was only down 3-2 when he took a sloppy shot and got hit with a cradle. So Duke pulling off an upset here is not so far fetched. AT 285, Maine has wrestled Mason Twice, Once losing 3-2 and the other I think was 8-4 (second score I am not too sure about) and if Maine wrestles they way he did this past weekend, this too is not completely out of the question. The score between Ketring and Hinkle was 10-5
  18. Eastern only forfeited 2 weight classes at sectionals and scored points in 11 weight classes with 4 champions and 2 runners up. Now This might be as ignorant as your statement but I think a team doing that would win almost any sectional.
  19. 103: Lloyd, Wilson, Mock, Bostwick 112: Jolas, Pence, Kern, Hall 119: Delong, Loe, Miller, Smith 125: Flores, Workman, Newsome, Simpson 130: Eckert, Hinkle, Rebholz, Ketring 135: Downing, Williams, Kirtlan, Striker 140: Fording, McKee, Miller, Rosen 145: Goodnight, Wells, Robinson, Dickey 152: Dick, Turner, Heady, Lenehan 160: Stage, Harvey, Poe, Butler 171: Bratcher, Hunt, Newton, Wiechmann 189: Evans, Duke, Smith, Shoffner 215: Colby, Morgan, Ammons, Harper 285: Maine, Mason, Ulerick, Penning
  20. So Eastern wants to pull out. Let Kokomo go to team regioanls. Ryan Wells has done wonders with that team the past couple of years. And I know that Kokomo will not lay down because someone says they are not suppose to win. If there was ever an underdog that could pull off an upset. So I say, Let Eastern take care of Eastern and let Kokomo take care of business. Go Luck Kokomo! I hope they let you compete.
  21. Oak Hill sectional will be a close one between 5 different teams. Oak Hill, Eastern, Western, Kokomo, and Marion.
  22. Coach Peck doesn't seed Conner Mullins, the #3 ranked kid at 152, and no one catches during the seed meeting. Unethical or not, should have been addressed long before the coaches meeting on saturday.
  23. Corrections 112: Feuerstein Mar over Smith MC 9-1 119: Hiers HN over Ladage Mar TF 16-1 140: Clark Log over Warner And 9-6 152: Conley MC over Culley Mar 10-5 160: Treadwell Mar won by Forfeit over Butler Kokomo 171: Rittenberry over Ross 1:57
