  1. We all knew Bburg would get the #2...Fabio gets special consideration. On another not cathedral has had to wrestle perry every year at this tourney. They then wrestle in a dual next week.
  2. Tonto was at tri-west first then at Connersville. Bluemonster is not as much of a fan boy as I thought.
  3. It would be a close dual combining the Avon teams. When we wrestled South it wasn't close. They may have won 4 matches or so. Our strength really isn't our studs this year. It is the guys in between. The above PM placers are with Alex Cottey and Aiden Warren not repeating in the top 8 due to tough draws. Big Frank Hammond didn't wrestle due to an injury. We had 24 wrestlers, but only one in each weight scored. I know we didn't fill a couple weights. It will be interesting how each team shapes up in a few years. Shaun Richardson
  4. Yeah, but teams like Perry also get move outs. I am pretty sure cathedral's big guy grew up a half mile from the PM. To say they deserve it is a strectch. Some of the coaches from teams you mention are at elementary tournaments every weekend.
  5. I just don't see how you could say they "truly deserve it." At md, most of those kids go to the feeder schools. Cathedral has kids from greenwood, new pal, etc. How do they deserve it? Just cause they haven't achieved it? I really wouldn't say that if the first time those kids saw Cathedral's wrestling room wasn't their frosh year.
  6. Perry middle is looking for a tournament to enter. Any Saturday but the state finals or 1/25 could work. We could possibly host a triple dual. Contact Coach Richardson srichardson@perryschools.org.
  7. 1995 152lb. Final...James Leavell (DC) vs. Vernon Cannon (LC). These guys met like 4 times that year. The final went to OT and Leavell won. Most exciting 1-1 regulation I have ever seen. These two went different weights at senior nationals and both won if I am not mistaken. This is back when senior nationals was "the" folkstyle championship.
  8. MS coach here. The cons far out weigh the pros for these weight classes. I don't want to show this to my AD because shortening a dual meet will be a done deal. Pros: Less forfeits for smaller teams Uniform weights(probably wont happen still) Quicker dual meet(con in my book!) Cons: Less "varsity" wrestlers(big deal) Half the weight classes between 100-135(30% of avg. team) Increase instances of weight loss(not as many classes) 68 lbers don't stand a chance against the 75lbers(maybe your 106 lb champ) Bigger jumps for guys that bump up(103 pounder wrestling some 120 lb. stud) Less varsity wrestlers(not varsity...I quit...I am the running back)
  9. Kieth, post some results of the finals.
  10. Both had 1 takedown. I believe get got the reversal late in the second to go up 4-3. James took down in the 3rd and never scored. I wouldn't call it controlled the whole match, but he did ride him for a good bit.
  11. Perry had a couple heart breakers early as well. Kenny and Thomas were tough blows. Wc is good, but not quite in the same league.
  12. Is this next year, at semi-state, or at bankers life?
  13. These are possible round to go matches at new castle. 120 sparks vs. Martin FC 152 Cooper PM vs. Corsaro 160 McClurg PM vs. Tatum 286 Blades vs. Bernard What a shame!
  14. Caliboy doesn't know franklin's team very well. Wilkerson would beat McGhee at 113. 132 and 182 Franklin is favored. 220 would be good.
  15. Finally!!! He's back. Leave Caliboy alone. Franklin beats wc at 106, 113, 132, 138, 152,160, 170. 182 and 220 would be toss ups. I don't know franklin's 126 and 195. WC doesn't match up well with Franklin.
  16. Franklin would win 7 for sure against wc. 5 toss ups and I am pretty sure wc would win 120 and heavy. Would be a good one, but Franklin wins.
  17. I still think the MD team mentioned is the best, but last year's Perry team was real good. 9 qualifiers and 8 placed. I will try and list them. McClurg and Kinney I don't think qualified. 106 Cottey 7th 113 James 3rd 126 LeCount 2nd 132 McKinley 1st 138 Bova 7th 160 Johnson 3rd 170 Masengales 2nd 182 Martin 4th 285 Winfield qualifier(funny to think the Fargo runner up was the guy not to win Friday night.)
  18. It is the number of scheduling points. You have to have four duals which I believe are 1 point a piece. Tourneys are 2. I don't remember the total for scheduling points. I believe you get 18 scheduling points.
  19. MD hasn't had the dominant middle school team the past 3 or 4 years. I think Schaefer and the team over achieved this year getting 9 to state. This year's junior wildcats were stacked. In 3 years EMD will be real hard to beat.
  20. I feel this young man owes a lot to coach red. If it weren't for coach's act after every match, I am not sure he would be ready for the following match. The Kirk Gibson fist pumps and celebratory clapping is almost an unfair advantage. I even saw coach red Neal and Tebow. Unfair!!!!!!
  21. Is it true that Bocock and Tonte went shopping together? I know they are real tight, but that is pushing it!
  22. The kid from LN was Scott Hines I believe. What we have found from Caleb's post is that this happened many times over the years.
