    I never said she spit on anybody, although one of the school official's there told my brother that a fan spit on the mat maids. That, however, doesn't make it true. All I'm saying is that two wrongs don't make a right,and an adult is held to a higher standard than a minor. That certainly doesn't excuse alleged poor behavior by a minor, but again, an adult should take the high road. PS If you really will fight "anybody", I hope that the mat maids don't make you mad, as seeing a high school girl with no teeth would not be a pretty sight :-X

    It happened in the 2nd 30 second overtime at 7:41 and from what I heard Hawkins put the legs in and got too high. That's from a 3rd hand source though. They are both tough and the rematches will be exciting.

    I believe this is the former Hammond Baptist, and although they have been wrestling for many years, they are not IHSAA affiliated.

    There are currently 389 licensed IHSAA wrestling officials, and another 27 pending applications for the upcoming test. Granted, several of those 389 are not active, are coaches, are retired, don't officiate, or all of the above. There are 128 officials needed to work the sectional each year (4 officials at each of the 32 sectionals), and there are generally between 125-135 that apply.

    According to the state rules interpreter, the IHSAA is not actually opposed to the gray shirts, however, their concern is that they don't want to force everyone to purchase a new shirt. As a result, our rules interpreter was actually asked to poll all of the officals and present the findings to the IHSAA. After receiving a response from 130+ officials over the course of a 10 day period, the overwelming response (86%) was in favor of switching, while another 12% stated that they did not care one way or the other. The NFHS made the gray shirts optional two years ago, and it's probably only a matter of time before they make them mandatory. I don't personally think that the color of the shirt has anything to do with how the officials officiate or how coaches respond to them, but I do think they look more professional. Regardless of the color of the shirts, I'm ready for wrestling!

    Good question by the ole Elder and great response by cbarnett and I have wondered the same thing and was glad to see an explanation that puts it out there with no sugar coatings. Doesn't sound to me like anybody was offended so why pull your post unless you were offended yourself Mr Neal ??? : ???

    Now that postponed the sectional champuionship until Wednesday they had to postpone their team regional until Thursday.
