Also, anyone else fill out brackets for NCAAs? I went and made my picks, and there’s a real possibility Lydy and Brunner both place. In my picks, I have Lydy hitting Skatzka in the ticket round who he’s never lost to, and Brunner hitting Traxler, who he’s split with. Really hoping for Ersland’s first AA this weekend.

First off I want to let everyone know I usually do not read threads on here and I just now signed up to be able to post because it sickens me to see these “likes” and comments! While I do not condone the issue of using plastics, I also do not  know the full story on what recently took place at Carmel High School, nor do any of you! It makes me sad that I see such negative comments towards my high school coach, knowing he has done SO much for many programs and for the state of Indiana. I am not going to sit here and tell you that I have agreed with everything Coach P has done, there have been times we haven’t seen things eye to eye.....But I am not going to forget everything else he stands for and the many improvements he has brought to the wrestling community in Indiana. Nobody is perfect! We all make mistakes, some more public than others. It saddens me to see so many people that have reaped the benefits of his presence in wrestling get on this thread and bash him and “like” derogatory comments about him. 
 
Coaching isn’t easy and dealing with most parents does NOT make it fun. One of the fundamental rules I live my life by is “never kick a man when he is down”. I will put aside my thoughts and opinions and I CHOOSE to reach out and anyone who is down I try to help them rise again and become better! One bad decision does not define you!!! It is when you are down you will find your true friends, I am here for P. Writing thoughtless posts on message boards while hiding behind a keyboard is also a great way to burn bridges ..... something else I try very hard never to do!

My kids are well versed in what is acceptable language and what is appropriate where.  They were also taught that you shouldn't ignore unacceptable behavior simply because "everybody's doing it" or it is awkward to correct.  The post your original response was directed to described the broadcast as "definitely not kid friendly".  Only ignorance would believe that HS kids don't curse BUT it is a reasonable expectation by any responsible adult that any kid can understand the context of being broadcast across the world wide web and considering that ANYONE could be listening.
A simple reminder should be all that's neccessary to correct the situation.  Pretending that everyone that may be listening to a HS wrestling match should be accepting of foul language as part of it is ignoring the problem and failing the kids in question.  If you let it go as "just what kids do", then you have no expectation of anything better out of them.  It may not be comfortable, but I think the kids deserve to be told when they're f'in up.
*Even this forum has *corrective measures" for inappropriate language....for a reason.

Nice strawman argument, but I'd rather stay on topic.  When I'm standing behind your kid in line at concessions, with pre-schoolers or grandparents, and he/she is dropping f bombs.  Don't be shocked when I do your job of parenting for you.

I can’t stand the hard push after they are out of bounds. I really really hate the face raking. Makes me immediately dislike the wrestler. It is just dirty. If a coach coaches that they should quit.

There's some solid parenting.  Just don't be a snowflake when someone takes the role of raising your kids and tells them to watch their language and shut their pinhole later when they're talking like a truck driver in public 

Well da ole rat finally broke down and subscribed to Flo wraslin.  Can't believe it took so long to get it. Bein a efficando of the great sport of wraslin Im in heaven. Watched wraslin all weekend. Being retired I do have a little more time on my hand. Especially since its cold outside - I ani't laying on da ground doin a brake job or ball joints. Side work slowed down a little - just in time for wraslin. So when da misses is watching grays anatomy or da voice da rat is watching Flo. You young bucks can learn a thing or two. 

He got in trouble for threatening his ex girlfriend. He was arrested and suspended from school. He's out now, but there is an ongoing investigation. This happened about a month ago, so I'm not sure where everything stands right now.

I have nothing but respect for Mason, Mark. I was trying to make that apprent. Dudes better than I have ever hoped to be. When you talk matchups someone wins and someone loses. I'm sincerely sorry if I offended you or Mason wasn't my intention. I'm big enough to sign my name when I post stuff for those reason I'm not trying to hide or take jabs.
The wolverines got a blue chipper and there is no doubt in my mind that he will be on the podium during his career. 
What ifs are just that, speculation. I'd be more than humble and happy to be proven wrong . 
Best of luck to Mason in the coming years he is one of the best all around athletes in the state. 
And Again I sincerely apologise if I rubbed you guys the wrong way.

No issue with his scrutiny towards a coach he doesn’t like.  If that’s all he wants to portray in the board then that’s on him.  The issue I have is when that turns into him litter every thread on the college board with those remarks which at some points included negative remarks towards the programs wrestlers.  The only “chiding” I see coming from me is asking that he stop polluting every topic the board and stop harassing me by bulking me into the negative comments just because I ask that it stop.  
Maybe you missed the previous several years where every thread about IU wrestlers achievement were meet with him taking jabs at their choice of college and turned into Goldman attack.  Reguardless of your feeling towards the coach, there is no reason to disrespect the accomplisments of those young men who are working hard.  But at least those attacks by him were slightly on topic since it did bring up IU.  However, I see no reason that his trolling of Goldman to then be added to and ruin threads about about Purdue wrestling, threads about former Indiana wrestlers at a program like Linsey Wilson, and threads about wrestlers committing to college program.  The board isn’t frequented enough as it is, but that kind of garbage isn’t helping more people want to visit.
Confining his vendetta to a few on topic posts would be great.  I’ve even suggested he try contribute something useful to the college board too if he wants to keep coming around. But nothing has came of that other than the continuing to bulk me into those negative IU comments.  Can you really say that’s warrented based on what has been asked of him?  
However, I do appreciate his absence for most of this college season so that some of these college topics were able to stay on topic.  And at least at this point he’s managed to keep this rhetoric to a few topics which actually focus on IU.  If he can keep to that path it’s a great improvement over the previous couple years. 
If you feel I’m asking too much then that is fine.  But if we can’t continue to have a college board that is able to have functioning topics then I’ll be another one that doesn’t see a reason to add to it or visit here anymore.  I’ll leave it at that cause he’s heard the same suggestions for at least three years now and all I’ve seen from it is more blow back and other than some of this season a lot of trashed threads about Indiana wrestlers in college.  

But you still keeping up this same tired argument.  All I’ve ever said and ask for from you is two thing.  1. Stop polluting every single college thread with a need to turn it into something about IU. It’s been nice for awhile actually see some college threads that you didn’t turn into a IU bashing moment.   Thanks for that.  2.  Stop trying to badmouthing any positive results the IU wrestlers actually get by somehow making it about a Goldman negative.   Those guys are working hard and doing what they can within the system.  There is not need to drag them or their accomplishments down just to take another poke at the head coach. 
 
I’ve never directly defended coach Goldman or for that matter attacked him negatively.  I actually make it a point to not make personal judgements about the coaches or wrestlers unless it is a very extreme situation.  And no a poor team or individual record is not an extreme situation worth my personal judgement.   What I have done in the past is draw the boards attention many positive accomplishments that college wrestlers from Indiana or from a Indiana college have done.  Then tried to adk you to stop turning every single thread in this forum into a off topic bashing season due to your vendetta against one coach.  If in your eyes that puts me in the Goldman support wagon that is fine, but in mine it puts me on bandwagon for supporting college wrestling as it relates to this state.  
 
And as I’ve asked of you many times before please make an attempt to contribute anything additional to this college board other than just your Goldman vendetta.  Unfortunately I’m not sure that’s ever occurs, which has made it very clear your interest isn’t anything related to helping improve this college wrestling forum.

BLee is one of the most humble kids I’ve ever been around.  He is also one of the fiercest competitors I’ve ever seen, which is what makes him the wrestler he is.  If a kid just wrestls him, I have never seen him be anything but gracious.  If you try to show him up by doing a lot of talking and then shoving/punching him in the face after the first period, then you’re going to get the angry BLee that’s going to respond in kind.
If others on this thread are talking about  being unsportsmanlike in his takedowns and cutting kids...the kid likes TDs.  If he liked pins and pinned kids in a few seconds, is that more “sportsmanlike”?
The lesson?  Don’t be a jerk to BLee and things will be fine.
And if any of you people actually knew the kid, you wouldn’t be talking.

Army West Point wrestling has made some adjustments to their coaching staff headed into the 2017-18 season.  The Black Knights were also recognized by all 3 major recruiting media outlets as having a top 25 recruiting class for 2017-18 (first time ever).
*  Braden Atwood (4X NCAA Qual. for Purdue) was brought on board the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant.  He is already at West Point and doing a great job with the program.
*  Joe DeAngelo was recently hired as an assistant coach (2X NCAA qualifier for NC State)
*  Cam Simaz has been hired as the West Point WC head coach and will coach in various capacities in the Black Knight program (NCAA champion from Cornell Univ.)
