Yeah, he's not looking as dominating at 119. According to the results page, he went into overtime with a kid from Lowell. Anyone have any comments about that match?

I don't think it has to cause injury. It's just that if it does cause injury, the slammed wrestler wins. Maybe a ref could answer this one.

The Malonado love fest is getting old. I agree that he is a great coach, and I realize he is region royalty, but come on. There are a lot of other great coaches in the region that deserve credit too. I'm not even gonna name names because I don't want to get into a foodfight on here. All I ask is that some of you posters stop acting like Maldonado is the second coming. One thing I will say is his senior laden team got pummeled by a young CP team that was supposed to be rebuilding. I realize it could be different next time, but it just seems odd that Maldonado would be getting so much credit when his team got handled last night. Please don't take this as an attack on Maldonado (which I know some of you Merrillville people will). Like I said, he is a great coach and I will root for the Pirates at state if they make it there, just like I would any other region team.

This match could be split 7-7, but I think Merrillville has the advantage with bonus points. Always a fun meet to watch, though. It is in the gym or the fieldhouse?

CP's website says Portage duals, which if that is right it makes sense that they don't go to the tournament because their dual with Portage counts as the official DAC meet, and they are required to wrestle Portage in an official DAC meet. Plus, they could not choose to wrestle Portage in a weeknight dual and go to the Lake County tournament because that would put them over the weigh in limit.

I think notifying the papers would be a good idea. With the way newspapers are these days, there just isn't as much money. I think the local papers should try something innovative with high school sports and pay spectators a small amount of money to cover certain events that the papers can no longer cover themselves. All they would have to do is have someone edit the write-ups. If there is no room in the paper version they could at least post the stories online. I realize this is way more complicated then I am making it seem, but I am just brainstorming here.

Looks like CP has dug themselves a hole, but I like the look of that shovel they're gonna use to try to dig themselves out.

Should be interesting to see the DAC match between CP and Portage. Any nonbiased sources familiar with the teams have an opinion on which team will win?

Couple things. First, I do not know that and I am a real baseball fan. To me, Wrigley is not all that great. Maybe it's because I'm not a Cubs fan and I'm able to take off my blinders and realize that the sightlines are bad, the tickets are too expensive, the people there are annoying, the food sucks, and you're lucky if you're not sitting behind a pole. Second, you only wish I would let it go, but it's not going to happen. Four years isn't that long ago. It's certainly a lot less than 108 years or however long it's been since the Cubs won one. Lastly, not only is that a lame joke but I think it's the Cubs fans who don't work. They're the ones who are able to go to all those day games, whereas the Sox fans are the actual blue collar working people who definitely can't go during the day and usually can't go at night because they have to get up early and work the next day, something the yuppie Cubs fans would know nothing about. I'm game if you want to keep going with this, but I think we all know these arguments don't go anywhere. Just don't call me a fake baseball fan and I'll be fine.

The Lake County tournament is a quality tournament but it would be much tougher if Crown Point and Merrillville attended. With them, it would be up on the list. Without them, it's still an above average tournament.

Go Sox! They're definitely not second class to whoever said that. All I have to say to that is the Sox won the World Series in 2005. When's the last time the Cubs brought a title to the city of Chicago? Haha! That's the end of that argument. Go Sox!

Does anyone know if the finals will be broadcast on BTN again tonight? It says the are suppised to, but something else is on?
