  6. My freshman year I think I wrestled off about evdrry other week. Myself and another wrestler were always neck and neck for the lower weight varsity spot and the next spot was open. I lost several at the start of the year but as I began developing more technique I was winning more at the end. But almost every time it was a close match wth one point/more separating us. Winner got the lower spot that week and loser wrestled up. Since we both proved we could make weight and the matches were always close we ended up having to challenge each other quite often for the spot. Occasionally I just had to accept that I had done what was needed to get the lower spot that week and as a result has to wrestle up which meant giving up the additional weight. While that may have been a extreme wrestle off case I always took it as the spot wasn't owned by one of us it was earned by whoever showed progresses that week. Our current system is having wrestle offs at a few times in the year that are pre-determined. In the event of a super close match were varsity guy lost we will sometimes run a best of three format to decide who should get the spot. If the varsity guys would lose he would have the ability I move up to challenge for the next weight class.
  7. Hopefully they have time during regionals and/or state to get in some additional exhibition matches for the young ladies who only have a couple opponents in their weight class.
  8. Tsirtsis is wrestling un-attached this season at Arizona State. He was granted eligibility by the NCAA to compete next year.
  9. Come on guys the greatest holiday of the wrestling year is upon us. "2lb allowance-fest." This time of year suppose to bring less empty bellys and happiness across the wrestling world. All of these grouchy feeling were to have lessoned with the additional food intake. So let's all celebrate the season by eating that extra piece of chicken and being a little more cheerful.
  10. My wife's is usually around state weekend too. Her gift is usually that I leave her at home.
  11. I believe that a few years after his, and the other Griffith boys, run the IHSAA adjusted the event participation rules a little bit to try to avoid such large regular season match totals. This would basically prevent anyone after from having a chance to reach those type of numbers. Although, the advent of some many 2-day (only equals 2pt.) events in the last few years has allowed some teams to start creeping back closer to those totals again.
  12. Heck they may do some damage there. Correction looks like it worked.
  13. Not a complaint, but maybe an oversight. Evan Bullock of Brown County is listed at 145 and 152. I believe 145 is where he has been at lately.
  14. You're dreaming about this in your sleep now Mike? Man the life of a rankings guy is rough.
  15. Way to go Walton. Even though he doesn't quite get the talk that His teammate BLee gets, he's still one of the top wrestlers to come out of the Junior class. And he was a head taller than his competition even back the.
  16. Although many of the top guys clear that mark, in the whole scheme of HS wrestling not a lot of wrestlers ever actually get there. Good for him.
  17. Thanks for the updates. Much better than waiting on the carrier pidgean to get here.
  18. Ashnaults a stud, but in the consols when things start going south and you've already lost that fire they soon go real south real bad.
  19. Dang that last Star Wars moving must have really done a number on you TripleB. No seriously thanks for all your time and efforts over the years with the rankings. I know it's a bigger undertaking than it looks on the outside. I'll see you around.
