  1. You sir will now be known as The Saint of Connorsville. Can’t wait for the town to get the internet and learn of the wonders of track wrestling.
  2. They are for sale? I thought you could only earn them by demonstrating high quality stallings techniques during your week at the camp.
  3. Trackgopher, Is it possible to archive the videos and make them available to just the paywall people who had purchases the event. As with other trackwrestling purchases, I was fully expecting to be able to watch some of the meets that I didn’t see on the live feed afterward. However, the early half of the event everyone has access to what was originally paid for and for the later half of the event even the paid customs don’t have access. I’m not sure about how the programming logistics are set up, but I know for other paid events allow only subscribers to access the archived content. Sure it doesn’t stop all scouting, but it also allows access for the paid customers, as well as this college coaches, who likely expected to have viewing rights beyond the live feed.
  4. It’s mostly the prelim matches that are up just like previously and for free instead of behind the pay wall. It looks like semi-finals and finals are the ones missing from anyone’s access. I was hoping I could watch the rest of the dual meets I missed on the paid live feed, but apparently that’s not happening. I wouldn’t think this issue would be to a scouting thing if they are also making the prelims are available to view for free.
  5. Well Wes Wesley isnt about the money he’s about helping kids reach their potential. So he’s offering the camps at a modest cost, putting on free coaching clinics, and making his techniques available on the inter-web to ensure all youth wrestlers have a chance to learn these invaluable skills.
  6. Quick answer is they added Cathedral and Warren Central expected ranking, both of which didn’t participate in the event. The the fact that 4th/5th placement is the same basic spot if the teams didn’t face each together.

  9. Col. East had: G. Rooks D. Combest N. South and also their 220 J. Bolte 4 others finished with 1 lose on the day.
  10. Remember that time when the IHSAA had a awesome team state competition, but dropped. I remember.
  11. Those matches are not wrestled out due to available mats and time constraints. They previous round is wrestled so that all team will get at least 3 guaranteed matches for the event.
  12. Several rankings matches occurred, but now that the event is done what were the highlight individual matches?
  13. Due to limited my space and time constraints they don’t end up wrestling out the final placement round for the 9th/10th and 11th/12th place matches. They wrestled the previous round so that each team is at least guaranteed three matches for the event.
  14. I’d also like to know if there is a plan to refine the separation criteria, at lest at the state level. Last year the regional qualifier really didn’t matter in the separation which I thought was unfortunate for those that traveled far and battled hard to finish Hugh in the qualifier got nothing at state for that effort. Some like this could be entered into track to create a more balanced bracket for those going to F/S State: 1. State qualifiers 2. Semi-state qualifiers and the F/S Qualifier Champ 3. F/S Qualifier 2nd & 3rd place. 4. F/S Qualifier 4th place. (Maybe 5th since they finish at essentially the same spot) The rest of he competitors get drawn in. Although if you want to keep the brackets at a manageable size for a one day event taking qualifiers past the top 5 placements will make that hard to do. If you wanted to have separation criteria for the F/S Qualifier it would just have to be regional qualifiers get the separation. Then the rest are drawn in. Is that a perfect system No (doesn’t account for sectional upsets or the stud JV guy). But it at least give a chance for most of the better guys to get separated and make of the top placements for state rather than face each other early.
  15. One or two days would probably come down to the size of the brackets. They willl already have a large number of automatic qualifiers, which you can’t really cap. So the only way to limit the bracket size would be to take less placers from the regional qualifier.
  16. It’s actually finished and been making its rounds in the film festival circuit over the last several months. So likely they haven’t made a hard copy of it to purchase or rent yet. However, I know a few months back that I saw a version of the film either as a early online release, extended preview, or some type of ESPN related bio-doc. It told quite a bit of his senior year sort including his state tournament finish, so definitely more than a few min of a trailer. But for some reason I’m not able to pinpoint a online location now. It worry got pulled after they finished the final cut or it’s buried someplace that a little harder to find. I’ll check with another messsge board to see if someone can track it down.
  17. Well maybe not Netflix but it was definitely though an online source somewhere.
  18. In believe I watched it on Netflix awhile back. Not sure if it’s still on their rotation or not.
  19. I wasn’t able to attend to I’m just checking since the name was brought up earlier. I’m assuming Shepherd of JC didn’t attempt to weigh-in at HWT at all. Has he been on the mat yet this year for them?
  20. More offensive does not necessarily mean your running up the score. A few more scoring attempts in a match and more battling for position in between is more of what I’m asking than just trying to shut it down for almost the entire match and hope for the quicker escape at the end. Will he do well to try to slow down an offensive machines like Rutherford sure, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he is just shutting down the whole match too. As Fabio said earlier, it doesn’t seem to me like a great option to hope he can just trade escapes and find that elusive extra score sometime in OT. Could it work, sure anything possible, but I wouldn’t think relying on that strategy is going to let letting lightning strike twice. If you recall the Maple match was in 2014. Rules have been adjusted at the NCAA level over the last few season which have have tried to push wrestlers to create action, prevent someone from causing stalemates, and stop those just riding the edge. Tsirtsis used those precious strategies a lot to keep many of his matches tight in 2014, he won’t be able to use them quite as much if he’s going to make the same run this year. I’m not suggesting he throw caution to the wind and attack at the pace of people like Zain. We have seen him be more offensive in matches against top guys before so we know he has the skill set in him. But I don’t think it’s wise to assume resorting back to his freshman year approach will allow him the same deep run this time around.
  21. ^This I’m just happy he’s back and hopefully able to get one more good shot at a title. But a few of the changes to the NCAA rule set in the last few years aren’t a aid to earlier style. We’ve seen Tsirtsis can be more offensive against top competition and hopefully he can tap into that more as he faces the top tier 149 guys.
  22. At a new weight and hopefully he can continue getting back to his old form. Though hopefully with a few more offensive attempts this time around.
  23. Thought it was a great idea too in order to protect from a reattach and also be ready to start another setup. However, even though it’s only a light contact as the opponent gets to his feet, almost every time the ref have stopped the match and gave out guy a warning for excessive force. Apparently having your hands lightly on your opponent to guide them up to the position you want them is so poerwrful that it prevents your opponent from being able to get to their feet properly. One match our wrestlers had literally 3 fingers touching the wrestlers head and they got called for excessive force for preventing the wrestler from returning to neutral. If your being a down right bully and forcing them around (DeSanto does this a lot more than our guys have ever done) I can see it as a problem at the HS level. But I can’t see a issue with just remaining in contact to ensure your not bring attacked yourself as you prepare for your own offense once the escape has Benn called. I’d love to get some clarification on this one.
  24. That’s right you over paid professional pumpkin tossers you were right not to try to take that weekend. Smart move to have that ridiculously high scoring hooping fest a different weekend so to avoid crossing paths with our time honored grappling tradition. Another one for the good guys.
  25. Never mind my Senerio #1. Initial reports say they will host some smaller fan events at the Convention Center but the main Fri, Sat, and Sun. events are currently schedule at Bankers Life. So unless they decide to shift things later we will definitely be bumped on those dates. Hopefully they can shift us a week.
