  1. Nice national recognition and very well deserved. Also worth noting is that most of the rest of the matches that made this list were major national events and All-Star invites designed to showcase the best of the best. Only a few were actual high school season/post-season matches, with Red vs Lee being on the top one fro that category.
  2. Ivy League and getting to wrestle too. Nice job young man.
  3. Tonte got a nice headline in Saturday's IndyStar for his part in the WC win over Ben Davis.
  4. Ranked 12th at 138 (Flo) 3-time Montana State Champ 2-time Fargo Junior Freestyle Placer http://www.flowrestling.org/article/46189-12-parker-filius-commits-to-purdue
  5. Pennsylvania stud Sammy Saso. http://www.flowrestling.org/article/46106-nick-lee-sammy-sasso-to-meet-at-who-s-1
  6. Indiana sent several wrestlers in just the past 15 years to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Glad to hear the tradition is continuing.
  7. Being able to represent your country in anything is one of the top bucket list items for most athletes. He should definitely take advantage of the oppertunity. Good luck.
  8. . Will his play-by-play partner be Good Ol' Jim Ross. I'm hoping for a real Slobber Knocker!
  9. Lots of detail in the podcast that didn't make it in the Mini-Documentery.
  10. Oklahoma has cleared house with its wrestling staff, which has allowed Purdue to pick up Maples as an assistant coach.
  11. He got about as much air time on tv as the Mongolian coaches got for their display. Not enough for him and too much for them.
  12. Yeah it also got play on TV. Thanks NBC for taking the time to highlight the positive in the sport. On a side note im seeing that it maybe customary in traditional Mongolian society to offer up the offender all your possession as a way of showing disappointments you feel someone you trust has wronged you. Maybe they shouldn't do this down to their underwear on an international stage though.
  13. The US Men's Freestyle team finally gets a gold in Rio with. Snyder gets a 2-1 win in the finals over an opponent that beat him two months ago.
  14. Here is the full ESPN article. http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/17320826/the-incredible-true-story-two-wrestling-teammates-involved-miami-drug-trade I believe they said their would be a few other items to be released over the next few days. Maybe interviews and a mini-Documentery type story on ESPN.
  15. Nice. That's definitely not a short list to type up.
  16. Defeating the legendary Yoshida of Japan 4-1, who had not lost in 5the past 4 years of competition until today. If you don't know Yoshida look her accomplishments up, she basically has won everything for the last 14 years with only two (now three) career international loses. This win ranks up there with Rulan toppling the great Karelin. Hopefully we will have a bronze in a few more minutes with Elena Pirozhkova. Then men's freestyle adding some medals into the weekend.
  17. Sweet. Can't wait for #ProjectGrapeApe to begin afterward.
  18. He is one of the few that is lucky enough to own both books. I'm a big fan of the narrative style state finals recaps that Ready, Wrestle has for each year.
  19. Yes, you finally took my suggestion to use Magilla Gorillla as the sites official mascot. Man next time I will write two letters a week instead of one.
  20. It's ok, I can appreciate the balance and strength skills of the large man.
  21. Always looking for an interesting podcast with a non-fiction base. I subscribed immediately. Thanks for the heads up.
  22. Something tells me between bring a past gold medalist and bring connected to the official sponsors that JB will already have plenty of interviews and other apperances to make prior to wrestling starting. Let's just hope he's able to juggle that side of his success as he's done in the past and still be focused on the competition.
  23. Yes, the team voting was alluded to in the original post, as well as, mentioned at the start of the voting page.
  24. Arajau is currently listed at 126 and N. Lee at 138, so they would both have to shift a weight class for that one to occur. As of now there is no official match set at Who's #1 for 126-138, and Willie at Flo likes to ensure the WNO matches reflect where the wrestlers will realistically be competing at for the upcoming HS season. So we will see how it pans out in a few months. But honestly even though Arajau is a stud, Yianni over the last year has been knocking on the door of being the nations top HS wrestler, and I'd really like to see how Lee wrestles him.
