  1. I could be wrong but I thought the match that happened between MD and LN that MD won happened before new years. I remember being a freshman wrestling at a freshman invitational at MD and the score being announced. But yes the match happened during the 91/92 school year for sure.
  2. When you refer to IHSAA state finals I assume you are referring to the individual state finals. The old team state finals had their barn burners ( I may be a bit biased) MD vs Caramel in 97 MD vs Hobart (not sure the year) and MD vs Portage in 04 (hated to lose that one but it was a hell of a match). Old old Indiana's best tournament MD vs Lawrence North in 91 I believe, MD VS Belmont in 93. MD vs Evansville Central in 92 or 93 (at MD PACKED HOUSE Central was very confident that year). All great duals!
  3. Good job to all of our representatives, some tough competition for sure.
  4. Very cool hopefully we can continue to build this list. Obviously I'd like to see MD's #'s continue to rise (and I believe they will soon) but to see all this success is impressive. CP should be adding more very soon as well.
  5. C'mon! Does college wrestling really cost that much? Serious question. It can't be anymore expensive as lacrosse.
  6. Might have to make it a few more cases than just one!
  7. I think Mendez could AA next year as well if he is not redshirted. I'm not saying he couldn't win it but I think AA is a safe bet.
  8. If I EVER get the chance at the big gym in the sky to meet Andre The Giant I'm sure we'll have a long conversation about it over a case of beer, and me having one of those beers.
  9. I've watched my kid play and heard him beg for packs. I guess if I were playing I'd get every pack I could till I filled out a team I thought would win but from what I've seen the possibilities are endless. Of course I'd try to get the "All Medden Team" but that would equate to the All Time Indiana Team. I guess if you put boundaries like eras or regionals I'd find it easier to build a team rather than imagining what wrestler I'd get in a "pack" no disrespect it's just hard to relate.
  10. Nag nag nag. You disappeared for a bit.
  11. Interesting, ultimate team set by era or region of the state? Obviously I don't play Madden, I used to play a mean game of Techmo bowl though!
  12. Darrick Snyder is on school #2, Goebel never left MD, why would he? 12 state championships, numerous individual state champs, why would anyone ever leave that environment to go coach somewhere else? Goebel and Helfrich any day of the week.
  13. Either you are very young or you have a very short memory. In my humble opinion you have missed some major guys. This is an awesome line up but not Indiana's best all time team.
  14. I believe Nick beat Eirman pretty handily the last time they wrested freestyle as well. I could be wrong but it seemed Eirman was frustrated at his inability to score on Nick. That was a while back though so we'll see how those two match ups turn out in the future.
  15. One thing to consider is that in high school Lee went after the best competition he could find. Yes Lee was successful in highschool and yes he had a couple losses BUT high school was not Nick's M.O. he was focused much higher goals than high school. I think we have yet to see the apex of Lee's career ( barring injury) however he is getting older and injuries may derail future plans. None the less Nick will find success in life be it wrestling related or anything else.
  16. I am NOT well versed in the ways of NCAA wrestling but I see no downside to the redshirt.
  17. I agree 100% on the entire post, as far as Steveson goes he very well may be one of the if not the top HVY we will see in our generation (I feel he could beat Macco and Lesnar I don't know a lot after them). I don't like the WWE track he's chosen but what do I know I'm just a hick from SW Indiana he may have a massive contract with WWE.
  18. I have always found it interesting that when an NCAA wrestler gives an interview he is usually bleeding and or bruised. When you look at NCAA basketball players that give interviews they usually don't have a scratch on them. Nick Lee's interview after Semifinals was a good example, I remember Andrew Howe being beat up pretty good after one of his matches and talking about tempo and wrestling his match. Basketball players get fouled a few times and call it a "physical game" . You have to love this sport!
