    NSC

Looks like another year that who has the most seconds and thirds and a full team will determine who wins overall. Each team could win a weight class. Without Casey and a couple wrestlers that are young and learning, Jimtown will face an uphill battle. Glenn and NP will be favored NP GL JT BR CU KX LV TR
  2. Help me win a bet!!! Any body have a picture of Cosgrove in pink socks?
  3. Bright Orange 1 piece coverall, outside along the highway, with a nice man and dog close to him!
  4. Always been told "crew" (the neat row boats in the olympics) was the only one tougher than wrestling
  5. Damon Hummel, a "little heavyweight" among the big boys. No 220 then. Saw a comment about a leg cradle. He did it to a heavyweight at the semi-state! Speedway sure is lucky!
  6. Getting more common is entering a kid that has no chance of wrestling. Then after he getts a seed gets substituted with a weake draw. Unethical. happerns more in conferences with only 4 seeds.
  7. ??? As dad2 asked is there a team pick. Good individuals but nobody seem to have a team favorite? Possibly a year for Bremen or Valley/
  8. Heard he was suspended for missing Warsaw's practice. Possibly when he went to the Super 32.
  9. Getting basketball players Mat space, or gym time also many times it is the same coaching staff. I will say it is frustrating to take a kid in his first match against a kid that is finishing his season. Many kids get discouraged at this point, no matter how many times the coach tells him "It will get better."
  10. Maybe they are just waiting for the loan to clear in order to buy gasoline!
  11. I believe that I have said this before to you Mr. Carp. 6 People did the entire Jimtown meet (matside would have been difficult). More help means an easier situation for all. In the meets that I have worked I do not see the younger people getting involved. For the health of the sport we need new blood coming along. The people that work will soon get tired of getting trashed on the web. You must be careful how many times volunteer help gets insuted before they leave the sport. Please come to pairing and show by example. I'm sure the people will listen to your ideas. I would like to coach my kids and watch others, but some of us realize that without the volunteers the meets do not happen regardless of where or how you are pairing them.
  12. For the newby's, Jimtown with Marty and Mark have tried new things the last 3 or 4 years. Some worked and some did not. Things change, but not overnight. I know all of the pairing staff at Jimtown. Where are all of the young people when the work is being done. If you want your kids to get matches we need younger people to get involved. It is a lot like officiating both in season and out. Where is the young blood?
  13. As David Letterman would say: The top ten reasons not to wrestle in high school. 10. Got a car, got to work 9. It's gay (any definition of gay) 8. Got my butt kicked. Rookie vs the other teams stud. 7. How many of my Saturdays do I have to waste! 6. Don't want to cut weight 5. Rather be a boy lifter, and lift the cheerleaders. 4. Playing college, baseball, track, football, etc. Don't want to risk getting hurt, and I've got to train. 3. Not fun 2. Practice is getting like a job 1. It's too hard. (various definitions and stories)
  14. Mary and Helen from Decatur Barb Read , Plymouth Mary Ann Ferdig, South Bend
  15. Last Saturday I watched the Iowa finals on comcast. (Had Jr high did not go to team state). They had a split screen with 1-A upper left quad 2-A upper right quad 3-A lower right quad all scores in lower left quad. The quality of wrestling was good in all three. Good crowd till the end. We could class or not. Maybe keep more teams wrestling as was mentioned before will keep more people there. Hey Karl, I don't remember schools like Belmont, Yorktown, EMD being listed as small schools in the rankings.
  16. Carp You seem to know me, and maybe if we had talked at Jimtown we would understand each other better. I do not believe insulting my kids helps a thing, and insulting me gets us nowhere. You obviously have some good ideas, but possibly there are restrictions you are unfamiliar with. Cut the blanket slams and use the PM. This way maybe we can come up with ideas that would benefit eveybody.
  17. We've done it at Rochester. Maybe the carp should look around home rather than WI and MI.
  18. No, 2 of us will be there Carp. Will you?
  19. I tell the alumni group every time they ask for money. "do you have wrestling back, yet" They say no I tell them call back when they do. Doesn't get anywhere, but I feel better ISU home of Bumgardner, Kurt Thomas and Larry Bird. They dropped gymnastics, too!
  20. Dave Thanks for the day off: With all of the experts from last week , us old pairing folks can set back and enjoy watching them pair your meet. I'll bring note pads, so we can learn from them.
  21. Like the semi-state wrestle backs Like the college TD rules Either have rinding time or don't in both college and high school. The way it is now our better kids get cheated. Going way back. At one time there was no coaching. The coaches were in the stands. the wrestlers had to know. I would love to set in the bleachers at a dual some time with the other coach (or not) and let the wrestlers wrestle and think.
  22. If that happens, I don't want to see Karl coach swimming!!!!!!!!1
  23. CMA, smaller lots of individual work. Great people and setting.
  24. As the experienced people have said, come on in and be part of the solution. You must not help much or many of us would know you. The dumbest post ever appears to have come from a person that is part of the problem. Like they said go watch how a good tournament is run. Most have commented about watching, and seeing. When they start saying "When we worked this meet we did this, I'll listen. As far as 50 year old ladies, I'm sure all of them would welcome new help of either gender.
  25. ;D With the Chicken dance!
