  1. My problem in the wilson match was that so much tome expired at the edge. That should have been two td and ob call then reset at the center so that there could have been another 30 to 45 seconds of actual wrestling.
  2. You have to give a kid a timeout for injury when he asks for one. No question. However, stop him from getting instruction from his coach. That is a benefit the injured wrestler should not recceive. I dont care if asthma, compound fracture or breather. The kid gets no corner input from coaches.
  3. Then it should ge brought back and enforced zealously.
  4. Stop making this thread into an asthma issue. Its very simple. Im pretty sure the coach is not supposed to talk strategy with his kid who is injured during the injury timeout. My thought: if the coach or an asst of the kid who is injured speaks one word to his wrestler (i dont care if he says how ya doin) the kid loses a point. Meanwhile, the uninjured wrestler can get all the "coaching" he likes. I think two things happen when a non injury injury timeout is called. The kid gets a breather (nothing can be done to prevent this) and he gets instruction from his coach. This needs to stop.
  5. Im pretty sure hurford was mean to wrestlingfan182's kid during a match when they were both 4 yrs old and he hasnt been able to let it go. But he respects hurford and thinks his family is great.
  6. Its so personal with you. Lol. You should relish the villian role. What fun is it if everyone loves and respects you?
  7. i think its just fine theyre down. Could stay that way for a couple of decades as far as im concerned. Wont happen but a guy can dream.
  8. Spiderman in a landslide. He actually has super powers. Batman just has cool gadgets.
  9. You guys whining should stick it. Nice to at least see an attempt being made by some national source. Keep your recommendations to yourselves. Pretty sure the head guy at AWN can handle getting his own people up to speed as to how to write.
  10. Gotta agree that first round wins should count. What is the rationale they are giving for not scoring the Friday night victories? I understand that we think the IHSAA is lazy but they have to give some reason for their decision.
  11. No kidding. This post needs to be erased right now. Not locked, removed. This subject has gone on too long and needs to end. Wrestling Truth, you should be ashamed posting this crap. This isnt the first time this type of thing has happened and it wont be the last.
  12. I know everyone is already handing the team title to PM and if I was a betting man, I'd put my $ on them as well. However, when you look at the other programs that are sending more than 5 to Banker's (Bloomington South-8, Yorktowon-7, Merrillville-7, Penn-6, East Noble-6 and Warren Central-6) is it really out of the realm of possibility to think that PM might not win the title? I'm sure I missed a team or two that is sending 6+ or I got the number of qualifiers wrong for someone I did mention so feel free to correct me (I'm sure numerous folks will be glad to do that). I truly haven't sepnt the time analyzing the brackets in enough detail to fomulate who could win besides PM but I'm sure some nerd has. Who has the best chance?
  13. Wow, if that doesnt tug at your heart you have some problems. What a fantastic story. Good thing they didnt raise the weight classes while he was in school .
  14. I think winning a second title is accolade enough. Quit putting pressure on a kid to impress you by pinning or teching everyone at state. Win and advance is all a kid has to worry about during this time of year.
  15. Holy hyperbole Batman. Sounds like we have a combination of Smith, Gable, Sanderson and Burroughs all in a 113 pound package.
  16. No way trips. We are folkstylers at my house but when freestyle is on the olympics, we are glued to the t.v. My oldest called when burroughs gold medal match was first aired and i was able to drive home from the office and watch it with my boys. Great stuff. If its really gone i believe it will be a great blow to college and then trickle to h.s. I am fearful i might not get to see my grandchildren, which ill hopefully have someday, wrestle.
  17. And the h.s. wrestlers from Indiana make better employees (especially the ones who got screwed at SS with a bad draw and didn't make it to state because they have learned so much about how the world isn't fair and that will make them better people and better employees) than h.s. wrestlers from other states because we don't have wrestlebacks. Please not the sarcasm.
  18. Jackson-Tatum from nh advanced but you didnt have him listed in blue. Not that your ego needs any more stroking but you may have only missed 6.
  19. This analogy is weak at best. Comparing job advancement to a high school kid and advancing thru the state tournament series is apples and oranges. There are so many gaping holes in your reasoning it borders on the nonsensical.
  20. Agreed that Mr. G showed a lot of class by coming back and wrestling to his abilities even after falling short of his goal. That is more than i can say for a number of wrestlers who were superior but once they fell into the wrestlebacks they absolutely quit and failed to even compete against inferior competition. Kudos to all the wrestlers who fell short (no matter the round) of their goal and yet gave their all after their loss. Remember, you find out more about a person in how they respond to defeat rather than how they respond to victory.
  21. the ethics committee which aoberlin is advocating would exist to help implement wrestlebacks which would have given malcom a chance to go to state. I dont think hes talking about an ethics committee which could convene and actually address situations like the one that occurred between ac and carroll. I could be wrong, however.
  22. wrestlebacks could be started after the second rd of ss (just like it is now for determining 5/6) It would add very little time (maybe an extra hour?) to the day.
