  1. If you read the winter bulletin. There is only one alternate in place. If the 5th place kid can't make it, it should be a FF. "The only alternate will be the 5th place contestant in that weight class from that site" "The 5th place alternate will be the last individual defeated by the champion who did not advance" But, I'm Sure the IHSAA will interpret it another way.
  2. Fact: All the LC wrestlers were originally seeded. Fact: IHSAA says they can't be seeded because LC wrestlers don't have 6 qualifying weigh ins. (Because of clerical error) Although we know darn well they weighed in. Fact: IHSAA decides not to punish the kids and imposes that all LC wrestlers are drawn into the 7 or 8 spot. Which in turn screws the entire sectional up and domino effects to the regional Fact: The winter bulletin is worthless and contradicts itself. Wrestlers have to have 6 qualifying weigh ins in order to be entered in the tournament. Then later says wrestler without 6 qualifying weigh ins can't be seeded. Fact: The IHSAA will pick and choose which rules they want to follow. Fact: There isn't anyway to logically reason with the IHSAA.

  5. Maybe 1-5. Jesse for sure. But the caliber of competition at schoolboy duals was no joke. The kids who competed wrestled their butts off. Forfeits killed them. They are killing the cadet teams as well. Regardless of what anyone thinks, we need to get better at freestyle and Greco as a state. If that means getting qualifiers in, so be it. If not, we need to scrap it all together on duals, and the kids who truly love it, train it, can turn focus on Fargo/kids nationals and invest in those kids. We can't embarrass ourselves much longer as a state with these incomplete dual teams. There are many variables to address to fix it, but filling the spots themselves has nothing to do with qualifiers. There were plenty of able bodies to fill the spots. Head coaches are not doing their jobs, clubs are not stepping up, kids are not stepping up to represent our state.
  6. The iHSWCA does a great job putting this together for the kids. $200 for CK fight shorts, CK singlet, CK long sleeve, CK gear bag, 2 night hotel stay in a nice hotel, travel to and from and meals for 2 days, and entry fee is a pretty good deal. I think the kids are treated equally as well too. Personally, I want to see it go back to the old days.. 2 teams per state only! Then it means something to qualify for the national team.
  7. Yeah.. We will get it fixed.. We have a change to make as well to the lineups.
  8. Team Indiana Scholastic Duals Member, Welcome to the 2016 NWCA National Scholastic Duals team. First, I wish to congratulate you on an outstanding IHSAA individual season. This will be the 15th time that an Indiana team has been a participant in this prestigious event. We are excited to strive for a second National Championship with this year’s teams. We have placed in the top three over the past five years, including a National Championship in 2011. Our hopes are to continue that trend this year. Our schedule for the event is attached for you. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at Lafayette Jefferson High School, office number 765-772-4711 extension 2606 or my cell 765-714-0713. Our host hotel is Holiday Inn Express right off the I-74 exit to Crawfordsville. The cost for the Team Indiana will included the following things: 2 nights lodging, breakfast buffet each morning, team entry fee, transportation to and from Wabash College, 2 evening meals, and team gear. We will also have snacks and water for each team during competition. A reminder that you will be responsible for your personal items while at the event. I would suggest that you not bring a large amount of money with you. Please make sure you don’t put anything down unattended because it will surely get taken from you. Part of our team gear this year will include a Cliff Keen gear bag with our Team Indiana logo on it. You are to report to Wabash College on Thursday, April 14th, by 4:00 pm. We will conduct a brief workout and then weigh-in as a team. There is a 5 pound weight allowance for this event. YOU MUST MAKE WEIGHT, including the additional weight allowance (i.e. 106/111). Make sure that you are training as this event has great competition for you to get better. See you on the April 14th at Wabash College. Sincerely, Tom Miller Team Indiana Head Coach Head Wrestling Coach Lafayette Jeff High School

  16. Top Place winners that are underclassmen from the 2015 IHSAA State Finals at that specific weight. It is a process, because we need to get definite "NO" before we can move to the next place winner. Some coaches and parents are hard to get a hold of.
  17. Rosters are being finalized this week.. Indiana Gold and Blue Teams are shaping up to be real solid. When the rosters are final, Tom Miller or myself will release it.
