Apparently the basketball game last night was cancelled due to a fire knocking out the electricity at EC. NWI Times said there was no news yet about the semi state though.

Looks like they will be needing plenty of volunteers to help with set up and working the tourney. Hopefully their numbers increase next season.

I wouldn't be surprised if the committee put a clause in their future invitations that if you accept the invitation to participate then you are committing to making weight and taking part in all the activities and if you don't make the weight and participate in all activities then you will be held responsible for all expenses that the committee had put out for the invitee. What an embarrassment for our state. I could see if there was an injury but when you are that much over weight, why even make the trip? Make a phone call so they can let someone else participate. It seems if he was thinking that he would be given a pass. I guess he thought wrong. Time to grow up and be accountable for your own actions.

What kind of slap in the face is it to the heavyweights every year when most of the crowd has left already? I see nothing wrong with adjusting the order of finals matches. Illinois draws a starting weight for their finals and I doubt that offends anyone. So, why not put 132 last? It would definitely assure that all the kids in the finals have the same capacity crowd watching their match under the lights.
