  1. Agree to disagree. Sarah Hildebrandt is the undisputed Indiana women's GOAT. There are levels to this. This is akin to calling Caitlyn Clark the basketball GOAT.
  2. I have Parris as the GOAT even if he doesn't medal (which would be a huge upset if he doesn't come home with a medal). 3x state champ, 1 loss in HS NCAA champ, Hodge winner Age group world champ Sr world medalist US Olympian Sarah Hildebrant is the women's GOAT without a doubt. But Parris is the overall GOAT at the moment. And I do suspect that Jesse Mendez's final resume will place him above Parris when its all said and done.
  3. We haven't seen Matt Lee on a mat in quite a while. Not sure he could beat Kervin at this point.
  4. Boarman over Rooks. Boarman did win the head to head match up this year.
  5. Tsirtsis was very boring to watch in college. Seemed like he was always content to win 2-1 on a riding time point. I know that wasn't always that case, but I know he had many matches like that.
  6. We can't claim Gable anymore that we can claim Big Bruce. Indiana is having a good run recently, but I don't think you can say that we produce the best heavyweights. That's like saying since an Indiana guy has won 141 3 of the last 4 years that we produce the best 141's and that just isn't the case
  7. is Red still doing freestyle? I don't recall him doing so.
  8. Brendan Kelly was way better than Williams or Kemper. He's #2 behind Brimm
  9. Brands just won a national title in 2021, got 3rd in 2022 and runner up last year. Likely would have won in 2020 as well. I seriously doubt his seat is warm.
  10. Boarman cracked the rankings. He's ranked 33rd at 133
  11. Boarman is quietly putting together a nice season. Chatt is showing his record at 16-4, with 4 MD, 5 TF and 4 pins. Interested to see how he does against a big 10 opponent.
  12. HS only, my vote is Maurer. But you could make an argument for Matt Coughlin if you include national credentials while in HS. 2-2-1-1, Fargo champ and NHSCA sr national champ.
  13. Henderson also beat LaRocca, so MD should have 5
  14. Nick Lee. Pretty sure he scored bonus points in every single match that he won in his 3 years in Indiana. Only two wrestlers to beat him were both ranked #1 in the nation at the time, and one is a world champ. David McCubbins - untouchable in Indiana his last two years, really untouchable nationally as well, winning double titles at Fargo and being on a couple of greco world teams. If not for injury he cruises to a second state title in '92 Matt Coughlin - fargo champ, senior nationals champ Andy Schneider was as dominant a hvy as I've seen
  15. Coach Hawkins shouldn't care what's on a wrestling message board, nor should he call for posters to be banned.
  16. Good recommendation, but it is Parkway Pizza, not Broadway. It is on Broadway ave. Angelo's on Main is good Italian. Zuki on main if you want hibachi/sushi. Sauced in the Hainey's corner area is excellent. Kite and Key on Franklin for breakfast is awesome, but get there early. Or pick up Donut Bank if you are in a hurry.
  17. Let's not forget NCAA champ Kelvin Jackson
  18. Two of the best from SW Indiana: Jason Greer and James Brimm. Jim Shannon (Brimm's stepfather) was a long time referee as well.
  19. Enter the General to scold you for not picking FW in 3...2...1....
  20. I feel like ever since he beat starocci, he hasn't been able to wrestle at the level for whatever reason
  21. Ty Henderson transferred from Vincennes Lincoln, so 13
  22. How did this match go down at team state. I know Henderson got a late pin, but what was the score at that point? Who seemed to be controlling the action?
  23. I was there for a basketball game earlier this month and used my debit card at the concession stand.
