  1. Stay away from the recruiting sites. It’s a money grab. At Fargo I asked every college coach I saw how they find recruits. 1. Who’s interested in us. Who contacts us. (Start early. Freshman year is good.) 2. My (the coach’s) network and HS coaches that reach out. 3. Look at State and National tournament performance (National level like Fargo and Super 32.). Fargo is a scholarship getting machine. If you aren’t doing Freestyle and Greco…. They never mentioned recruiting sites. One said. There’s some online thing I look through if not having any luck. Save your money. Sure somebody will say it worked. But their top way of finding recruits doesn’t cost you a thing.
  2. Heard Bloomington South without a 220 so been bumping lineup to try and win duals.
  3. Awesome IndianaMat has already answered the question… for any match up. Look in This Week on Homepage Find your event of interest Click on the date next to that event Presto! All sorts of great info appears. Including ranked wrestlers so you can see potential match ups. Thanks IndianaMat !
  4. Madison! That’s perfect. The “Beach” (Otherwise known as the sand volleyball courts.) by the river. Everyone lined up on the bridge. Be a bit cold….but that’s what Hinkle’s is for.
  5. Can’t search for specific team there either. Only does sort. Looks like doing a general search and wade through all info about that team is best/fastest. Can’t complain, we have access to the best wrestling site in the country ! Thank you team Gorilla
  6. Is there a way to search the results list and see all the results for a specific team or wrestler ? I don’t see those options in “Filter”. - Thanks
  7. From the Indy Star site. Have central Indiana wrestling story ideas? Send them Akeem's way at AGlaspie@gannett.com
  8. The Indianapolis Star has upped the coverage of H. S. wrestling in their subscriber area. If you subscribe, please make sure you are viewing the articles online so they see the traffic and continue to report on H. S. wrestling. Even if you don’t subscribe, click on the articles to let them know there is interest. The more publicity for wrestling the better !
  9. Indiana gonna make even more noise when these guys get to college. Great to see Indiana wrestling continue to attract top athletes.
  10. Thanks ! Really looking forward to hearing the whistles soon. Going to be a fun season. The Evansville State Championship is looking to be another great one.
  11. Observations - At Super 32 Watson was 145 and Gabe Solars was 195. With that tourney I guess they are at weight.
  12. Be nice if the locations allowed an “announcer” at each table to do play by play and some color. TR still gets their money for the feed. They send audio through anyway.. Just need to sit near the camera or run the camera while they announce.
  13. I’m hearing that “Evansville” is now the “Jasper” Semi State...??? Any info out there? Does this impact spectators?
  14. If we want more movies about/involving wrestling, then need everyone to watch this one. Hollywood will make more movies that are like any movie that makes money.

    Drake Buchanan
  16. It was a Tech Fall. Buchanan let him up a couple times to get the tech before time ran out.
  17. Center Grove - 6A State Champs Varsity Dress Roster. (Bunch o Freshman as well) Guys that wrestled for us last season - Owen Green, Tommy Claiborne, Sam Burris, Carson Wools, Jacob Newlin, TJ Sowers, Bryce Crump, Sam Hesser, Mason Crump, Drake Buchanan
  18. The number of football players will be close to zero if the opportunity is not there. If we want to grow this group you can’t think about past participation but be prepared for future. Start Saturday afternoon (3 pm ish) if a few more rounds are needed.
  19. One Day....A Sunday....otherwise almost no Football players due to JV games on Saturday.....unless of course day one started about 3-4 pm. Everyone talks about trying to grow participation in that group.
  20. Is there a local/national campaign to try and influence NFHS ? Less opportunity is not better....
  21. Thanks for Gorilla radio. Especially during this shut in. Love the way it elevates the conversation around Indiana wrestling. FYI -He doesn’t list it it on his track wrestling but Drake Buchanan was a Gold and Silver medalist at Pan Ams his freshman year.
