  1. I hope we get to see a Delta or Jay County match up against Bellmont at Team State. Bellmont is fully loaded this year when healthy, could probably compete with most 3A and some 4A schools and hold their own (I'm guessing the win 2A State easily). Coach Myers inherited a stacked Senior-loaded team but I'm willing to bet he's pushing those other kids hard.
  2. Prairie Heights has looked very impressive this year, even against some larger schools. I wonder how they stack up against them southern boys?
  3. That looks like the art on the side of the arcade game from Southtown Mall in the early 90's!
  4. Was is Blayne or his little brother (maybe another Union City wrestler too...IDK) that just punched a kid last weekend during a match?
  5. 1A/2A should have 24 schools and do a 2-day tourney over the holidays! Problem solved (until 50 other schools think they should be 24th!)
  6. If they all stay at 152 it'll be a killer battle with Currie/Dull/Manley at the Jay County Regional. Manley has always been a tough wrestler, but he is the most improved wrestler I've seen this year in any weight class in our area.
  7. No shame in going out to battle and wrestling hard like he did. I'm not sure if you are being serious and know the weight or were being sarcastic? He was a lot smaller than the others with Stevie Wonder's vision. And to think some wrestlers are afraid of a few pounds, let alone 15-20! Great backbridge by him to not get pinned in the last match, was impressed with the fight in the dog. Kudos!
  8. Which 4? I know the 106 pounder was 85-90 pounds MAX and Gavin Davis was out. Faurote?
  9. YOUTH wresting is where it begins and ends. I have family all over NE Indiana that is involved in wrestling. Over the past 10 years some of the former power house programs in our area have not kept up with their kids...and have relied on "names". Others have invested in their elementary programs and it's starting to show. It's weird, some of my family has kids that have "club" practice as well as the elementary team practices 4-5 days a week (and seem to keep it fun). Others have practice once a week and have a joke of an elementary program. Just look at the rosters on some of the Adams/Allen/Wells County elementary teams. How many Decatur/Adams County kids wrestle for other programs? WAY too many. There are ISWA placers that do not wrestle for their local Adams County school for Club and Elementary schools. It's a shame.
  10. Couple more from ACAC. Currie (AC) over Dull (SA) in a tight one...3-1 I think it was. The gap between these two is gone. Props to Dull. Also, Loshe (SA) over Lewis (Bluffton) in another close one.
  11. On Saturday at Norwell, a Bellmont Senior Carter Thomas made his return since not wrestling since his Freshman year. He used to be an absolute hammer as a youth wrestler. He went 1-1 on the day with a dramatic first match. If this kid finds his lungs and a spot in a loaded lineup, he can go deep into February.
  12. Agree with both of you on those wrestlers. I also think Levi Johns from Bluffton could potentially be in that conversation. Very dark horse.
  13. I know it didn't happen but.... Friday night at Jay County ACAC....Bluffton's Landon Bertsch looked ready to wrestle Jay County's Tony Wood. Entire gym was ready to watch it. Didn't happen. Lot of boo's from the crowd when another young man came to the mat for Jay County. The gym was nearly empty before Bertsch pinned the kid (since it was the end of the night and every other school was done...they all stayed to watch a match that didn't happen).
  14. I'm glad Bluffton is getting some recognition. ACAC's this weekend will be very exciting too.
  15. 99% Adams Central and .9 South Adams and .1 Bellmont haha
  16. Rochester 0-5?! A few years ago they were nearly untouchable, although I do remember reading they had some roster issues...
  17. South Adams should get in with ease this year. They are pretty tough for 1A, and have several tough kids coming up through their ranks to keep reloading.
  18. I've seen Currie beat Duke, I've seen Duke beat both Currie boys. I may be biased, but at this point I'm saying Alex wins a tough one. Alex (in the past) has been a little more pressing, up tempo.
  19. Ruble Veazy Arthur Bertch Currie/Myers
  20. I think back now and I think it was a Cowan kid. It was at Bellmont Middle School this last year when they hosted Cowan, Blackhawk Christian, and East Jay I think. I could be way wrong though!
  21. Do either of those Daleville boys have bright red hair? I remember seeing a Middle School team last year (maybe it was Cowan?) that had a very impressive 8th grader from around the Muncie area. Just remember his bright red hair. Told myself to remember his name but I've slept since then lol.
  22. IMO, a healthy Lee throttles him at this point. Give Mendez a year or two with top notch OSU training, it would be a great match.
  23. I lol'd, but yeah....that sucks. Considering what AC has now.....SA shouldn't be too far behind in upgrades.
  24. I heard an incoming Freshman hammer from Leo is now at Bellmont...should have moved 5 miles south!
