Swallow his pride? He is ranked number 1 in the country. What more does he have to do? He didn't look huge to me. He looked like a 126lber. He wrestled 106 as a freshman. Nick Lee 126. No disrespect I believe Lee is bigger. James beat CJ in the offseason. CJ still won state. It's not CJ's job to wrestle Nick Lee. It's CJ's job to win state for New Pal and himself. All these mythical match ups mean nothing. All that he should make it happen stuff sounds to me like you want him to lose. That's terrible if you just want a kid to lose and he is not presently facing your kid, or a your kids teammate or club member. That's the unwritten rule or you sir have sour grapes. Nick Lee is great, matter of fact I had him against Micic. So nothing against him; who ever says they know for certain Lee would win are either clairvoyant or delusional.

I was just curious on how different clubs around the state fared during the state tourney. 
 
Which had the most champs?
Which had the most placers?
Which sent the most?

Ok, looking at this more closely, Penn's decision to send its A team to New Haven is making more sense.  They're only scheduled to wrestle 4 duals at Bellmont:
 
Bloomington South (just wrestled them at IHSWCA state duals)
SB Adams (conference opponent they'll see multiple times)
Bellmont (just wrestled a good chunk of their team at Al Smith)
Plymouth (not sure if they see them later in the season before regional, but this wouldn't be a deal-breaker to miss)
 
On the other hand, New Haven is a good quality individual tournament with lesser-known opponents for their top guys.  Also, it's probably a less taxing day, just coming off of Al Smith and the State Duals and heading into the end-of-season stretch.  And i'm sure they're not just springing this on the Bellmont people Saturday morning.  I'm guessing they've had talks about what's going on.

I predict the winner will turn down an invitation to IHSWCA duals, as will the runner up!

Of course we will, we can't have Penn having any losses without a valid reason.  We'll make sure to note they aren't at full strength and that M109R says they would have won the duals if they were at full strength.
 
We will declare Penn as the Messageboard State Champions, hopefully that makes you happy.

Great day of wrestling. My only complaint about the tournament was the LONG breaks in between rounds. I understand the need, but it seemed silly that so many 2 hour plus breaks existed in between some wrestlers matches. Also, I thought it was unfortunate that red and his father did not decide to bump up and take the challenge. The match would have been one for the ages, and although I believe lee would win, the match would allow two of the pound for pound best wrestlers in the state and maybe in state history to challenge one another. At the point the match would have occured, the dual was decisively over. It would not have made any difference in the dual. Nothing against the kid, but I believe that to be the best you must beat the best. These two kids are the best, and it would have gotten a lot of attention and gained both kids a national competition quality opponent. There are wrestlers around the country that travel thousands of miles to get quality competition, with an opponent like lee in front of you, you've got to take it.

Bam and covaciu was a real good match some good flurries on the line covaciu with a reversal in the third was the difference. Merrillvilles top guys all looked good streck and Johnson got big falls delapena got a dec. there were some tight matches in the middle 52 60 95 and 220. Hedrick and perry was a good match also.
Portage is a tough team top to bottom every kid shows up to scrap the portage staff has done a great job. 138 was a great match were Mcintosh came from behind early and got a fall. Portage belongs at team state and I wouldn't be surprised if they are the champs at the Traicoff Saturday
It was a pretty full house in the field house not semi state packed but a good crowd
