  1. I am glad there is a vote for a spot. If you are going to just go by numbers, then do it. The points system is very good and proven to find the top teams for the tournament, but not necessarily the best top to bottom. Not a knock and just my opinion. It's based on an individual tournament, not dual format where matchups and bumping come into play. Anecdotally, there have been many cases in the past where a team had more points and was beaten in a dual that season and the following season by team(s) who weren't considered to get in. This vote in spot along with the remaining spot for the best performing in season team, helps address that and any "scoring anomalies". All 3 combined, points, vote, & in season performance, seems to be a good all around approach given the limitations and situations the dual team tournament faces.
  2. Blast double ala Jordan Burroughs is my vote.
  3. Congrats @Dingo Brigadeon the W!!! Cameron Drury wins the journalists picks contest from 2022 NCAA Championships in Detroit (teamusa.org)
  4. Guess I am in the minority. I like to watch all classes. I preferred them all together like in Ft. Wayne. Could switch up and see whatever dual you wanted, any class. Could sit in spots to see many mats. One of the most enjoyable tournaments I have attended, even compared to the IHSAA state finals. Understand the logistical challenges, just glad this tournament is still going on!
  5. not to mention Pepper Gomez, "Sailor" Art Thomas, Da Crusher and the world's most scientific wrestler Wilbur Snyder.
  6. Years ago, you had to qualify by placing at a tournament. IIRC was top 3. Vertical pairing too so you hoped first 2 opponents weren't top guys.
  7. Haven't seen anything on this, but noticed that IndianMat's own Joe Caprino and Cameron Drury were included in the article. Congrats! I thought it was some deserved recognition. I believe this isn't the first time, not 100% sure, but wanted to share. IndianaMat has become a top notch source for all things wrestling. Good luck on the picks gents! Journalists pick the 2022 NCAA Championships finalists and top five teams (teamusa.org)
  8. oops.... that makes more sense. I didn't look close enough after searching the address, clicked on first result which was southhampton for some reason. lol
  9. So the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic is really NE of Philly? Anyone know if this is normal or something new on location? Just curious...
  10. IMO, yes. I thought he was the most impressive Freshman I had seen and handled a tough bracket for that championship. Amazing HS career. I agree on comparing eras being tough. Always thought David Palmer was up top close with the other 4 timers. Now, I say its Jesse Mendez.
  11. Interesting. I don't have Flo, but watched via IHSAATV.org. I used a laptop and a tablet at the same time Friday. Was kind of a pain, so after a while just used laptop with a tab for each mat. Then cast 1 mat to TV.
  12. Thanks for the break down! Can someone help me out and explain what placers and schools with placer means?
  13. Guess we disagree. doesn't have to be a hand, any part of the arm. Watched replay several times, they touched at least once.
  14. Jackson won. Tough, good match! Even Goebel mentioned it and the locked hands. Never seen stalling call running a half either. maybe it was a bad angle? Oh, loved the Brownsburg robes!
  15. Haines with multiple full nelsons, touched more than once. Wow, no call
  16. Right, mat 2 & 3 are semi's though. Mat 2 commentators seem to be covering both mats. And mention big moves on 1 & 4.
  17. I think mat 2 is doing audio across the mats? at least it seems that way.
  18. At this rate, the IHSAA and Ticketmaster should pay ticket purchasers a fee. Nothing like watching a great day of wrestling to stay up until midnight to buy a seat for the next day, Ya gotta be kiddin' me.................
  19. Didn't get an email with links to the state mats this week. I liked that format and figured out how to do them (wasn't hard). Thought I would share them if anyone is interested. Still have to login obviously and YMMV, caveat emptor and all that: Mat 1: BlueFrame Technology - 2022 Wrestling State Finals - Session 1 - First Round Weight Classes 152 - 285 - Mat 1 Mat 2: BlueFrame Technology - 2022 Wrestling State Finals - Session 1 - First Round Weight Classes 152 - 285 - Mat 2 Mat 3: BlueFrame Technology - 2022 Wrestling State Finals - Session 1 - First Round Weight Classes 152 - 285 - Mat 3 Mat 4: BlueFrame Technology - 2022 Wrestling State Finals - Session 1 - First Round Weight Classes 152 - 285 - Mat 4
  20. All 4 started, some stopped. Maybe some testing or something. At least all 4 came on, so that's a good sign.
  21. Same for me, well for Mat 1 anyway. Others hadn't started. I think it doesn't start until 11:00am?
  22. Through IHSAATV, I was able to watch all 4 mats at the same time last week at SS. even do other SS mats. If you wanted all 4 on one screen, just right click and select open launch new window for every mat, Then just move them on the screen, they fit nicely last week for me. I didn't do it long, don't care for all 4 mats, too distracting for me. lol Flo archiving is better for sure!
  23. I was able to run on 2 devices last week for SS.
