  1. We planned on skipping state last year and was given a waiver right before or we would have missed it. They have about 3 weeks to figure something out.
  2. Also the way it reads anyone can wrestle in the central regional without wrestling in the state tournament. The central regional is the only requirement needed to wrestle in freestyle Nationals, so for those who want to skip state go ahead.
  3. I hate this rule. I feel like it is hurting the kids that are looking to better themselves and wrestle in national events. Why would we want to stay in state and wrestle mostly beginners in freestyle when we could be wrestling 5 to 6 matches in a national tournament. Some of our kids are killing it on the national scene and now they have to take a step back to compete in local tournaments. If it wasn't for schoolboy duals we would skip the state tournament all together. For those of you guys that will argue that kids need to learn freestyle, don't worry we get more then enough training in our academy. The matches in practice are much more beneficial then the few seconds the matches will take in these local tournaments we are being forced to wrestle in. Here is a look at what we are missing: March 18-20:TOA Youth Showcase(also NCAA Championships included in this weekend tournament) or Rocky Mountain Nationals March 25-27:Post Season Nationals or FloNationals April 1-3rd: USA Nationals(ISWA national tournament should be an exception) April 8-10: Reno Worlds or Middle School Duals(team Indiana's national team definitely should be an exception competing for our state) or AAU Tenn National duals April 15-18: Heartland Duals (ISWA team Indiana, again definitely should be an exception) April 22-24:Ohio Tournament of Champions April 29-1st: Viper Pit Dual and Open If there is an exception it should be competing in 2 or more of the bold tournaments. Middle School duals and heartland duals are showcased in the ISWA magazine as team Indiana events, but if you represent the state of Indiana you may not be able to wrestle in freestyle state. By the way I have posted on ISWA's site and they never respond to my post.
  4. The best way to get ranked higher in the nation is to wrestle in national tournaments, but ISWA is preventing that. The best national tournaments are right after folkstyle state, but we have to miss some of them to compete in local freestyle tournaments(wrestling mostly beginners) so we can qualify for freestyle state. #boycottfreestylestate
  5. glad someone else noticed how entertaining this guy was. Definitely needs to be a frequent visitor on the hangouts. I kept 4 open the whole time and used my other screen to bounce around. good job guy
  6. I am a little upset... ok a lot upset about the kegs not being tapped in Bankers Life.
  7. I know that the intent behind weighing in with singlet and shoes is supposed to prevent kids from cutting weight, but I feel like most people use this method to cut more weight. Most singlets and shoes are 1.5 giving kids another .5 they don't have to drop. Also most kids wake up lighter, so I think a weigh in the night before would actually prevent kids from cutting a bunch of weight. Also doing the weigh in the night before the tournament can start right on time at 9. I was also disappointed that for this big of a tournament they were not running full mats. Maybe this event can be held at the Coliseum next year with full mats. The only good thing was that the tournament took so long that by the time we got out of there the highways were opened back up and clear all the way home.

  10. lol I got almost all of them right. Tuesch at 75 didn't sign up till after my predictions and he was expected to be at 80, so I won't take the hit on that one. 117 and 150 were the only ones I missed, but I did get the runner up listed. either way the gold and blue teams are going to be really good for the National middle School duals.
  11. All these kids should place with 1 of them being the champ(no particular order) 75- Allen, Nelson, Fogarty, Tuttle 80-Freeman, Dalton, Watson, Goin, Bates 85-Cottey, Diaz, Mendez, Carrington, Jr, Tonner, Fuqua 90-Duncan, Alsott, Koontz, Mis, Zeltzer 95-Drousias, Campbell, Montgomery, Bailey 102-Littell, Wagner, Conley 110-Viduya, Boarman, McKivitz The higher the weight the less familiar I am with these kids, but here is a few I have heard of. 117-Williams, Reynolds 125-Bates, Freije 132-Calhoun, Ellis 140-LaPlace, Bowman, Turley 150-Verbeek, Friedt 160-Allred
  12. Since registration closes at 8 on Saturday and no one can change their weights they should have the brackets posted Saturday night after they seed it. This way there is no delay Sunday morning. All they would have to do is take out any kid that doesn't show or make weight giving their opponent a bye. Hopefully they don't do it like last year where they posted it on track right before the tournament started.(wasn't seeded either)
  13. Almost every kid starting from CP attends RWA the other 2 used to attend the twisters. CP does have a beginner club that they use to get kids interested in the sport.

  15. I definitely think it is harder to find a high school champ that has never won a middle school title. Only kid I can think have that didn't win a middle school title and won state was Jeremiah Reitz.
  16. 7 from EC SS. 8 if Torres can win as well.
  17. For sure. I'll take 6 and up. I'll be at state. loser buys a pitcher.
  18. 3 champs from Calumet and 3 champs from Crown Point Regionals for sure... possible 2 more between the 2 regionals.
  19. I go on Illinoismat every once in awhile just to watch all the bashing. They are ruthless on that site. Good job on keeping the knuckleheads out.

  23. 106-Garcia over Rooks 113-Cummings over Triana 120-Hildebrandt over Reitz 126-Bailey over Hudkins 132-Red over N. Lee 138-B. Lee over Coy 145-J Lee over Timberman 152-Lawrence over Berkebile 160-Covaciu over Warren 170-Hughes over Walton 182-Davison over Rypel 195-Tonte over Kleimola 220-Parris over Woods 285-Streck over York
  24. Goodwin hasn't been in the room lately, but I would guess 90/95. Mis will probably be the favorite with a lot of those guys going to 95. 95 should be the toughest bracket if all those wrestlers end up there. I would much rather have track seeding opposed to a blind draw. They should add a box to add a wrestlers achievements when they are registering as another way to separate. Because 6th graders will not have returning middle school placer criteria or even schoolboy criteria.
