Even with the $10 off special at the Florida Calabash Buffet  and a Matlock marathon weekend down in Florida,  you're expecting to see the Rat at East Chicago? With his lungs healthy after breathing years of pollution free sea air,  I hope he doesn't have a setback after taking in the East Chicago notorious refinery air.

Which also brings up a good point.  With the Rat gone,    who's  taking up the responsibility of providing the public service announcement of giving us a list of the finer things in the Region area  like that really good Taco restaurant or that Bar-B-Que restaurant On the Rise likes?  The Scholar personally want to know where the best Italian Beef is in the Region?   The biggest drawback of going to ECC from Merrilville was that Merrillville had a Portillo's right down the street. Right?

Of course, even in the unlikely case of some of the wrestlers from the Logansport regional might lose early and aren't as familiar with the area,  what are some of the entertainment options in the area?   Didn't the Region Rat have a list of some very cultural and wholesome educating museums and other family entertainment located around the region area?     ECC always is a fun day.

Maybe a slim outside chance the Scholar could even convince his wife to drive up to the Region and watch some good wrestling.  I still owe On the Rise Tacos.    Ill at least have the region broadcast of the SS on my phone looking forward to hearing Mike's call.

Little bit south down 41, but Pepinos in Schererville 1/4 mile north of Lake Central has probably the biggest and best beef sandwich in the Region

  2. Region Sports Network will be covering EC Semi State all day, you can listen to my terrible voice and the one and only "Voice of the Harvest" Mike Reiser

I have Crown Point winning a Semi State title advancing 8 with 6 champs.  Chesterton in 2nd advancing 7 with 2 champs.  Merrillville, Mishawaka, and Hobart going for 3rd.

106-I think Stall beats winner of triana/anderson

120-I will take diaz again, i think he has bettich's number and now is in his head having lost two close ones in the final seconds

160-I'll take the Wildcat beating the Kingsman first round

170-I think Phillips takes top bracket, Verbeek not looking great, sources say neither is welch

285-I like Whitenack, as long as he can get off the bottom I think he wins (kid is an absolute monster)

  4. I don't think Viduya is a lock, Ellis looks really good right now, also I haven't seen Irick wrestle this year but have heard great things and seeing it was a 1 point match against keys I wouldn't say its a lock

  5. Harvest Classic

106-#3 ECSS Johnny Cortez (LC) over #7 Jeff Bailey (RF)- 1st period tight, 2nd and 3rd Bailey takes control winning 15-4, scramble ensues Cortez pins Bailey with 10 seconds left.

152-James Smith (Penn) over #6 (IL) Tom Bennett (Brother Rice)

HWT-#2 Yehezauel Devault (PENN) over #11 Damari Dancy (PORT)-  Dancy was in control 1st and 2nd periods, Yezzy starts third period on top and pins Dancy

This tournament has taken a crap from the looks of it... just my opinion

One year there isn't 2 or 3 ranked kids at each weight and it's taken a crap?  This tourney is still tough, pretty much every year I have been told by a coach that they actually don't like coming because their kids end of coming home like they were in a street fight (not sure if this is a good thing 😂).  A lot of tough storied teams (Hobart, Penn, Portage) here, the only real change is Perry not being there this year
