  2. Can some one explain or point me in the direction of where I can find out the rules on number of weigh ins allowed per season and how the number of duels and tourney's play into that? Thanks a lot!
  3. You and I are partnered up again this year. Hopefully we won't have any trouble finding the men Sunday like we had with McDonough last year! I'm pumped about it as always!
  4. Coaches, The weather once again is wreaking havoc on our wrestling season. I will make the call on our Sunday tournament by mid day tomorrow. I will announce the postponment in a couple different ways: 1) Email everyone that has already sent in weigh in information 2) Reply to this thread with the new date 3) Email all coaches on original email chain that I sent tournament info to in the past. Thank you and I sure hope we do not get what they're calling for! Scottie Pennington
  5. Rochester was fantastic for our super dual. The mom's filled the room with lots of home cookin!
  6. I am impressed as well. I also coach a youth club and I mentioned him Monday night at practice. I don't know Tommy but I can honestly say ( I wish I could say it directly to him) I want all my club boys and especially my own 2 sons to turn out just like him. Even if they aren't a state champ, if they are half the young man he is I will be proud.
  7. That's pretty tough! Here's what my little opinion is: Red Micic Red Micic Lecount Forte Lecount Ferrell Heistad Bobby Stevensen Hurford Sliga Robinson Big Wes
  8. Wow, Boston and Red would be a really fun match to watch!
  9. Bump. This tournament is this Sunday. Hope to see you there!
  10. I think Nick will answer that question for us Saturday afternoon/evening. If he somehow finds his way at the top of the podium Saturday night it will be very difficult to argue against the fact that he may be the best freshman we have ever witnessed.
  11. When someone you work with gets hurt you tell him to walk it off and get back in there. Then you tell him you'll get him some ice and ibuprophen later!
  12. I think Winkle from Twin Lakes has a shot.
  13. I don't know how it ranks with some of those great matches, but for me last year's Robinson/Miller match was the one I came to see.
  14. We're hooked on Dick's Bodacious BBQ for lunch on Saturday!
  15. 106 - Konrath over Reitz 113 - Smith over Pepple 120 - Red over Glogouski 126 - Micic over Davis 132 - Wilson over James 138 - Hughes over Lykins 145 - Forte over Lecount 152 - Kelley over Carroll 160 - Corsaro over Hughes 172 - Rickenbaugh over Stevenson 182 - Rypel over Jankowski 195 - Omar over Johnson 220 - Miller over Robinson HWT - Bernard over Hemmelgarn Very tough to pick! Gonna be a great weekend!!!
  16. Not hijacking but I gotta go with a couple smoothie's while at Banker's instead of shaved ice! Love the strawberry bananna, it's leaps and bounds better than the commercial ones at Micky D's and what have you. Admittedly, I am intrigued by your choice of shaved ice flavor though. Heck I just might have to try it!
  17. The one that stands out for me is Clayton Moore from Manchester. Hasn't been ranked at all this year and untill sectional when he beat Kern wasn't even talked about in the SS Rankings. He came out and wrestled his butt off beating Schmucker and then the upset of Lovejoy was a great match as well. Then in the finals what a great triple OT match going down the wire with Campbell. Last year he had a fantastic year and I truly thought he could make a run at State but was beaten by the BEAST Crume in the ticket round. I'm really looking forward to watching him this weekend, and most definitely next year as well!
  18. I stand correct sir! I missed the last update. Thanks!
  19. I understand it to be Sunday, March 29th. They are still finalizing the location. More info to come.
  20. Everyone else is, so why not! I hope I'm wrong on some of these and all of our wrestlers come in first, but I don't see that happening. So here's how I see it going. (In order) 106 - Swisher, Garretson, Bledsoe, Wright 113 - Davenport, Dawes, Clark, Downing 120 - Maddox, Nelson, Quinn, Zook 126 - Wilson, Mikesell, Gunter, Hetzner 132 - Moore, Kern, Bratcher, Smith 138 - Hinkle, Sturgil, Curtis, Sholty 145 - Loe, Feuerstein, Moore, Hardcastle 152 - Gaddis, Rucker, O'dell, Wilson 160 - Akers, Mullinix, Sparks, Sarber 170 - Ross, Elliot, Fisher, Mckinley 182 - Hinkle, Mullinix, Skags, Eckrote 195 - Mcdorman, Snep, Ingram, Hiles 220 - Miller, Hobbs, Mccowan, Ellis HWT - Smith, Perkins, Beech, Stephan Should be some good matchups. 132 will be a toughy. Either of these three young men could take this class and it shouldn't surprise anyone. Kern/Bratcher match will be a great one, along with whomever sees Moore in the finals. Along with that finals I am looking forward to 113 potential matchup of Davenport/Dawes, the 195 potential matchup of Mcdorman and Snep will be a dandy along with the possible Smith/Perkins match at HWT. Good luck boys!
  21. People have been saying if Purdue wants a shot at beating OSU then this is the year. I had fun picking the IU match up so I thought I'd try this one. 125 Camden VS Roberts - OSU 3. I don't Cam will pull this one off, but I think he will keep it to a regular decision. 133 Cashe VS DiJulius - OSU 3. Dang it I REALLY wanna see Cashe pull this one off but I don't think so. He looses a close one. 141 Danny VS Steiber - OSU 4. Danny is on a roll, but it ends quickly. Logan with the Major 149 Branden VS Paddock - OSU 3. Branden keeps this one close. Low scoring decision for Paddock 157 Alex VS Languis - PU 3. I think we see what Alex is made of tonight. He wins this one by 3 or 4 165 Chad VS Grandominico PU 3. Very winable match for Chad. 174 Patrick VS Martin - OSU 3. Pat is overpowered here. 184 Tanner VS Courts - OSU 3. This will be a good one. As I have said Tanner is a beast and will be a FORCE soon. 197 Braden VS Heflin - PU 3. I gotta go with Braden this time. He is really primed for the upset right now. Close 6-3 match with Heflin earlier in the season. Goes the other way this time. 285 Alex VS Tavanello OSU 3. Alex will put up a good fight but come up 2 or 3 points short. I'll be there rooting for the Boilers, but I don't think we win this one. By these scores I guess that would mean OSU takes it 22-9
