    Everyone needs to call. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

    Just told my middle schoolers that they can’t go. That’s tough.

    Another parent just got on Ticketmaster to see how many girls state finals basketball tickets that they can buy and they could buy as many as they wanted… go figure.

    I’m just gonna go to Ohio to watch my kid wrestle. Good luck. I tried…. I’m over it!

    UPDATE…

    Just called back @ 4:50.. they said they lifted the 4 seat limit. To be honest… nobody knows much at the field house or at IHSAA. Just gonna have to figure it out ourselves. Please keep any information coming on this thread. Again.. I’m trying.

    Thanks for the info, appreciate it!

  2. What I observed:

    Deckard is behind with control around the waist and Dalton had one hand on the mat.  This only happened for maybe 1 second and I’m not 100% educated enough to call it a takedown, but from an armchair ref watching on phone, it looked as if there was enough evidence to call a takedown for deckard

  3. Steve was absolutely ridiculous. He wrestled 140, 145 and 152 that year.

    Matt, I'm sure it was a typo, but Robert was the Champ at 135.

    In that 3-man bracket you had

    1st 135

    2nd 140

    3rd 145

    Same year, Mitch Robb and Tanner Yates met in the round to go.  Yates was returning 4th and Robb was a returning SQ.  Mitch won the match and went on to win a State title.

    No surprise here that the Jeffersonville regional is the weakest in the state.... should have never realigned that regional.

    The old alignment wouldn’t have done much better.  Remove 1 qualifier with Tell City, add 2 qualifiers with Floyd Central.  I think on a different day, the Jeff sectional could have sent a few more qualifiers.

    Couple year's ago I brought up the idea of combining the Sectional and Regional Tourney into one tournament.

    I don't have the numbers in front of me, so don't nail me to exact details.....

    We have one of the largest regionals (most number of teams) and I'm thinking it's like 24ish teams.

    You'd have to have a round of 32 in theory....most weights have more than 8 ffts if you combine sectionals.  That would be a quick round.

    Seed top 12

    Friday night: Rat tail matches (I believe the number was around 10 matches total).  Then have the round of 16 right after.  If you lose any of those, you're done.

    Saturday morning run an 8 man tourney with wrestlebacks.

    When I looked at it I thought it would help with the ref shortage and make the state more money with less work.  It would also shorten the season a week, which might get us in the conversation of semi state wrestle backs down the road.

    This is well thought out and I think is simple, reasonable and efficient way to shorten a grueling 4 weeks.  I like it, thanks for sharing.

    In 1996-97 at 171lbs

    Semistate 1. Josh Hardy, Princeton; 2. Jared Willimns Evansville Harrison· 3. Geno Roderick Franklin; 4. Mike Schroeder, Evansville Mater Dei;

    State  1. Josh Hardy, Princeton; 2. Jared Willimns Evansville Harrison· 3. Geno Roderick Franklin; 4. Mike Schroeder, Evansville Mater Dei;

    Chambers I think the 1-2 & 3-4 flipped at state

    semi state: Jared, Josh, Mike, Geno

    State: Josh, Jared, Geno, Mike
