Can't believe Burroughs was called for passivity that early. Fought back to get the push out and cancel out the call. Iranian not doing a whole lot but staying low and reaching for an under hook. Playing the knee game on the edge to keep from getting a push out call for Burroughs.

Good match with the Iranian playing a good strategy against Burroughs but Burroughs is something else. The quickness, speed, and strength he has is just ridiculous.

The Iranian had a great strategy to slow Burroughs down, but when it doesn't involve any offense it will be hard to win. I am not sure about the shot clock as Burroughs was hit with it in almost every match when none of his opponents were doing anything offensively.  There is no reason the Iranian should not have been on the clock at least once.

Unfortunately for Andrew Howe, but fortunately for America; Burroughs isn't going anywhere.  He's always had offense, but his attacks seem more varied and his defense is vastly improved.  He's become very difficult to score on, whereas two world championships ago he just snuck through a few of his matches because he gave up a decent amount of points.

Just watched the interview with Burroughs post-final.  Not only did he wrestle less than 4 weeks after an ankle break that is supposed to be 6-8 weeks of recovery, but he wrestled after having drilled only 3 times and wrestled live ONCE before the tournament.  He didn't even know if he'd wrestle for sure until he got to Europe.  He got in shape strictly riding a stationary bike, lifting, then running some in the last couple weeks once he could bear some weight.  Goes out and wins tech/tech/tech/DQ when leading 6-1/4-0 in the final.  What a performance.

Pirozhkova takes the bronze.  We now have 3 medals through 12 weights.

We finished 5th in the points in men's freestyle behind Iran, Russia, Georgia, and Ukraine (but ahead of typically strong Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan).  Not our strongest showing, but we still had 4 guys near the top.

The women are in 3rd place through 5 weights.

Tomorrow is 147.5lbs and 158.5lbs for the ladies, plus the first men's greco weight, 121lbs.

Adeline Gray takes bronze at women's 158.5lbs today.

Also, Spenser Mango takes 5th at Greco 121lbs, losing 5-4 in a very exciting match that would have earned him the U.S.'s first world-level Greco medal since 2009.

None of our 3 Greco guys came very close to medals today.  Still searching for that first medal since 2009.  Three more Greco weights tomorrow to conclude the world championships--145.5, 163, and 264.5lbs.  We'll have the "Flying Squirrel", Ellis Coleman (2-time junior world medalist, ex-Illinois high school all-stater, and legit young prospect), going for us at 145.  Also, Robbie Smith will represent us at our historically strongest Greco weight, 264lbs.

We go 0-3 in attempting to medal in greco again today.  That's 0 medals from 28 chances the last 4 years in world-level greco tournaments.

In all, we end up with Burroughs' gold in men's freestyle, 3 bronze in women's freestyle, and nothing from greco.
