Howardsr
Jacob Ricks at 198 is listed as a Sophomore. Last year he was a Junior at State. I understand that a kid could flunk but have never seen one flip backwards. Or am I the dummy and this is a different Jacob Ricks?

jDub
97 signed up as of now Last year this time we had 19 signed up Six states already represented! 113 now. Assuming the next 3 weeks continue to pull in more wrestlers it should be a very good preseason tournament. Some pretty big names are already registered. I hope even more decide to participate. Never been...looking forward to it! Too early for predictions, (given that more wrestlers will register), but I'm curious too hear everyone's thoughts when we get closer. Y2CJ41
Well you need to add a Tennessee runner-up in Jon Boatman. He just registered and makes up our 7th state.
Y2CJ41
5 out of 9 entries at 173 are state qualifiers, pretty good weight already!

Y2CJ41
Nick Lee is an 8th grader this year. He was in 7th grade last year and I am going to assume he passed all of his classes and advanced to the next grade level.
WrestleMan
What will the criteria for seeding be? If two guys are both state qualifiers who gets higher seed? If there is a two time qualifier would he seed higher than a one time qualifier?
Y2CJ41
The criteria may be a flip of the coin in a case like that. Many times when we have kids who both have the same criteria the seeds that they are looking at are virtually the same such as a #2/3 or #4/5. The criteria we use is very vague with the goal of just separating the best wrestlers in mind.
Y2CJ41
Just updated the stud list, 43 right now which is 20% of the wrestlers signed up!
Y2CJ41
6 of 12 wrestlers at 173 at state qualifiers or better....extremely high quality at one of the upper weights.
wrestlin4food
6 of 12 wrestlers at 173 at state qualifiers or better....extremely high quality at one of the upper weights. Pretty sure the Michigan kid was a SQ which makes it 7 of 12. Add in Lefever and Hollins and it looks to be a tough weight.

wrestlin4food
Will strength of state play a factor in seeding? Will having 3 or 4 divisions hurt a guy in seeding over a kid from IN that only has 1 class?
wrestlin4food
Yes he is, I guess I missed that one I meant Carson Whaley. Saw a bracket the he qualified at 152. Does that make 8?
Y2CJ41
I meant Carson Whaley. Saw a bracket the he qualified at 152. Does that make 8? I guess so! Will strength of state play a factor in seeding? Will having 3 or 4 divisions hurt a guy in seeding over a kid from IN that only has 1 class? In a way yes, but Indiana isn't always the toughest due to being single class. Ohio, Illinois and Michigan all have extremely good qualifiers.
