  1. Agreed. I'm a southern fan as well and I was blown away by the amount of elite wrestlers at the Al Smith! Incredibly impressive amount of talent in one building and it not be the state finals.
  2. It's been great reading your rankings for so many years. You did a very good job! I liked the way that you incorporated "scouters" during tournaments in the south that you couldn't attend personally. They too did a good job. You put together a really good system. Your previews have been great and I hope you are able/willing to do another this year. I think Nick is a good choice for succession! He's crazy about the sport, like yourself, and seems pretty unbiased. He seems to call it as it is and I think he will give a good accounting of the southern talent! Good luck to you TripB...I know we'll see ya around!
  3. HWT Harley Hillenburg (Bloomington South) over #16 Long (Jeffersonville) by fall 126 Dalton Craig (Jennings County) over Austin Cook (Northview), 2-1. Was a very good match.
  4. I just saw on trackwrestling that folkstyle state Junior 106 had all wins by pin?! 7 wrestlers, 11 combined matches that were wrestled...every match was won by a pin. Did it really happen this way or is there a mistake on Track? Has a weight class ever completely pinned out before? Maybe it has with say 2 or 3 entries, but with 7?
  5. Thanks for the vote! It's going to be tough for wrestling to beat basketball in this area but we are hoping...and voting!
  6. Vote for Blake Webb (Bloomington South) for Indianapolis Star's Athlete of the Month. Was leading the votes but is currently 2nd behind a basketball player. Let's put wrestling on top! Was the Indy Star's athlete of the week as a Conference Champ and 4.2 GPA. Click here to vote - http://bit.ly/1Q3Ljmb . Then just click the 'vote' button on his picture
  7. With regard to the title of this thread, if you are attending this regional tomorrow be sure to go to Bloomington South, that's where regionals are. Sectionals were at B North.
  8. Good catch. I messed up that round and also the 2nd...Pinkham and McGlothlin (wish they were separated). So, new thoughts: Pinkham Stephenson McGlothlin Meyerholtz
  9. Some of the brackets are unfortunate, with the probable better wrestlers on the same side of the bracket. Based on the brackets: 106 Pinkham (BS) McGlothlin (BN) Meyerholtz (So.Ridge) Riddell (Crawford Cnty) 113 Stull (BS) (Stull/Gosney season long battle. Stull has the upper hand.) Gosney (BN) Sullivan (EDGE) Meyerholtz (So. Ridge) 120 Hunt (BS) Cook (NV) Bradburn (EDGE) Webster (THN) 126 Blubaugh (BS) Deckard (EDGE) Percival (BN) Terwiske (JAS) 132 Clement (BS) (Clement/Swinney have swapped losses. Clement wins recent dual meet, Swinney wins sectionals...Clement predicted to win regionals.) Swinney (EDGE) Brosmer (For. Park) Smith (Sull.) 138 Webb (BS) (Webb wrestles McCoy for the third time and takes the win.) McCoy (NV) Hancock (Sull.) Foster (No. Knox) 145 Gibson (NV) Thomas (Forest Park) Pinkham (BS) Bedwell (Sull.) 152 Aydelott (EDGE) Schank (So. Ridge) Tussey (Owen Val.) Eckert (JAS) 160 Hay (BS) Mundy (So. Ridge) Inman (BN) Coldren (EDGE) 170 Dull (THN) (Dull and Hendrich own wins over each other. Last one went the Hendrich at sectionals, this one goes to Dull.) Hendrich (NV) Songer (So. Ridge) Slone (Mitchell) 182 Dalton (BN) Creasey (Owen Val.) Duregger (NV) Murrell (THN) 195 Robinson (EDGE) Michel (So. Ridge) Nicholas (Sull.) Brown (Mitchell) 220 Dixon (BS) Rivera (THS) Short (W. Vigo) Wilson (EDGE) 285 Dwyer (THN) England (Mitchell) Neukam (So. Ridge) Thornton (Wash.)
  10. Jourdan/Ramsey match could very well be the match of the day. I'm still shocked that Jourdan is at 138. He looked lean and mean at 152/160. The weight loss to 138 could/should play into Ramsey's favor. Don't know how this one plays out, but I'll bet it'll be super exciting.
  11. I really liked the way the North Montgomery tournament was designed. First day was dual format with all 12 teams separated into 3 pools then wrestling into final placing pools. Day 2 was converted into individual style tourney with seeding based on the previous day's results combined with other seeding criteria. Pretty cool hybrid way of doing it. I suppose it's not a new thing but I've never been to one like that. Kept it really interesting over the two days. Many great matches, ranked and unranked. Good job to Bloomington South for the win. Wasn't there for the entire tourney, what are some of the matches that stood out?
  12. Blmgtn South was 3rd, Blmgtn North 4th. 106 Noah Hunt was unable to wrestle. Perry had nearly their entire team in the finals. 132 champ was Schermer (BS) (battled two tough matches with Napier and then Vaughn...good matches!) 160 champ was Young (FC) 170 champ was Webb (BS) 182 champ was Dalton (BN) Perry won the rest. Impressive. 126 Uk vs Hair, 132 Schermer vs Vaughn, and 145 Dull vs Warren were all very exciting finals matches. 145 Warren vs Barlow was a big semi match. Warren in OT.
  13. Chase Webb (Blgtn South) over KY #13 Rojas, and KY #3 Alex McIntosh. Lost to Young (Mad) in the finals. Schermer over McCoy, and Baehl in the finals.
