  2. It's been confirmed that Nick is still competing in freestyle. Everything I have heard from Penn State guys is they think he's going to be a superstar as a coach. I wouldn't mind him coming back to Indiana and taking over for Ersland someday at Purdue.
  3. How bout the number of Ohio kids and Illinois kids versus Indiana kids. Those numbers aren't good for Indiana wrestling at all.
  4. Ben Davino vs Jordyn Raney would've been worth the price of admission.
  5. Related to the clocks - don't have a scoreboard showing a clock that is different from the clock that is used for reviewing whether points are scored before time expires.
  6. Only issue is don’t have HS kids running tables and not paying attention to clocks.
  7. Good for Nick. I would be surprised if Nick didn't continue to compete through the next Olympic cycle. But I have no inside scoop, it just seems to make sense. With any luck when he does retire from competition, he will come back to Indiana to coach/develop future Indiana talent and bring with him a wealth of insight from the Sanderson coaching tree.

  15. Nice. Good Luck Nick. Hopefully he also plans on competing for at least the next Olympic cycle.
  16. Looks like a solid field in beautiful Fort Wayne Indiana this weekend. Good luck and defend the state!

  18. 3 October 2021: the day Iran went 16-0 at the 2021 World Championships Sarlak: 3-0 to reach the final at 57kg Amir Yazdani: 4-0 to reach the final at 65kg Nokhodi: 4-0 to reach the final at 79kg Yazdani: defeats David Taylor 6-2 to win Gold at 86kg Ghasempour: 3-0 to reach the final at 92kg Zare: defeats Geno 9-2 to win Gold at 125kg the greatest day in Iranian wrestling history? you have to go back to 1961 for a better day (Iran won 5/8 Gold medals in 1961 Worlds).
  19. https://www.instagram.com/p/C7FGtq9iiFi/ Yazdani in training today. He looks good.
  20. i wouldn't read too much into that given stylistic match ups and still have time from then until the Olympics, but those are fun matches in their own right. I'm not worried about Geno but hope Masoumi beats Taha

  23. Yes but we can use him to see the form of the other guys like Petriashvili and Akgul in Hungary.
  24. don't think that matters, Zare beat him 5-0 in that other tournament in January and will be the rep no matter what Masoumi does in Hungary. who else will be at Hungary at heavyweight?
  25. Lee absolutely dominated Gilman. The Gilman we saw at the OTT's isn't the same Gilman that was winning world/Olympic medals. I'm not sure he get by Zou at the last chance qualifier. Spencer Lee is clearly our best hope for a medal at 57 kg. Zain is the reigning world champ, albeit at 70 kg. He is also our best wrestler at 65 kg. As much as I love Nick Lee, he wasn't close to beating Zain. He also had an opportunity to qualify the weight and couldn't get it done. I'm not sure Nick would have qualified the weight at the last chance. Yianni looks done, McKenna isn't a serious threat. Mendez was a handful for Zain, but again, could he have run that gauntlet at the last chance? I'm not so sure.
  26. In Hungary tournament. UWW says he’s being sent.
