  1. That's what it says... 62 of 112 Al smith placer qualified for state. Just over 55% Just over 27% of the qualifiers in the tournament placed at Al Smith.
  2. Similarly Liam Krueger had 3 wins over state qualifiers at the Al Smith.
  3. Seeing as how Rochester won the FWSS, with 4 qualifiers....I do not think the FWSS is comparable to ECSS. No offense, There were I think 4 or 5 schools at ECSS with 4+ qualifiers. Okay EVSS has had a great year, but.... #1 I think you are wrong about a lot of your predictions....Ill get to this in a sec. #2 you do not know what "Da Region" is if you are including Mishawaka in that sentence. #3....EVSS has the #2, #3, #5 4a schools...#1, #5, #6, #7 3A schools...It is very obvious your semi state had a great year.ECSS has the #1, #6 4a schools...#9, #10 3a schools. EVSS was much deeper this year. (VERY OBVIOUS) CP should be way ahead of the #6 4a school... Not to mention that Mount Carmel has multiple "219" kids wrestling for them...This also would make the ECSS tougher. Add in.. Lemley, Acuna, Doan, Mendoza, Resendez, Drousias, (Probably missing a few) Now on to the CP talk... 106-Jendreas is better than you think 113-Kaptur was seconds away from state, just lost to the #1 kid at regionals 4-0...He places at your SS and got a bad draw at our semi state. 120-Cruz, another bad draw at our SS. Bohn has 1 loss on the season and it came this week 160-Goodwin is the real deal, and is better than you think... 195- Takes 4th maybe 3rd 220- Has a win over a kid that techd RDIII
  4. I know there is quite a few, Rivera from LC, Torres didn’t wrestle Al Smith… my head hurts from doing just the placers lol
  5. Wrestling stat nerd post…..I was bored after the Super Bowl and thought….” I wonder what percent of state qualifiers placed at Al Smith?” 106- 3 of 8 113- 6 of 8 120- 6 of 8 126- 5 of 8 132- 4 of 8 138- 4 of 8 145- 4 of 8 152- 7 of 8 160- 4 of 8 170- 4 of 8 (Law is now 160) 182- 5 of 8 195- 2 of 8 220- 5 of 8 285- 3 of 8 62 of 112 Al Smith placers qualify for state. Just over 55% There are a few going to state that did not place at Al Smith too. 7 of 16 qualifiers at 152 placed at Al Smith! Happy State Week everyone!
  6. Brendan Black Freshman year Lost to the SS champ in ticket round, became alternate at state. Got the call back, made weight Friday night. Brock Hudkins ends up not wrestling Friday night because of medical reasons. Black received a FF. Lost his next 2 matches and was going to get an injury default for 7/8 and decided to not take the 7th. Black Inj. Defaulted to take 8th. His last match won was first round of Semi state.
  7. 145- Jonny McGill Hobart is out...4th seed LS kid moves up to 3rd. Whiting is the alternate. 160- Portage kid is out...Alan Turich Hobart is in (alternate)
  8. What is the limit on the amount of tickets you can purchase at one time?
  9. Anyone know how many tickets ticketmaster will let you purchase at one time? Are you able to purchase 50 tickets?
  10. Some ECCSS matches that I remember...not too long ago. Colza vs Lemley Triana vs Cummings Bates vs LaPlace Haskins vs Tolin Moreno vs Rodriguez
  11. Are other semi-states limiting their capacity?
  12. Pretty cool that Gable Steveson stopped by the Hobart Regional. His words, “I’m just chillin today.” Saw him visiting with some old pals. Thanks for stopping by champ!
  13. Yes I saw that is the enrollment from the IDOE. Their enrollment last year was around 2063 correct? Wondering how they lost 68 kids. Are they counting virtual school kids? Just questions…
  14. @maligned Did Chesterton's enrollment go down? That seems very doubtful. They are 6A in football and city seems to be growing
  15. I used to tease him, I said “Dang Coach you must like riding busses, coaching 3 sports for 50 years, that’s a lot of bus rides.” This always made him laugh. Incredible Coach, even more of an incredible human. Footprints for generations and generations to come
  16. Sad to say that Coach Steve Balash lost his battle with cancer this morning around 4am. He battled tough, took the hardest match he’s ever had into OT. All I can say is what an incredible human. I am so thankful to have had him in my life for the past 28 years. If you knew Steve I am sure you can say the same. We lost a great one today! Updates soon on arrangements.
  17. Now that Sectionals is over, what are your predictions @ontherise219?
  18. Did anyone catch that the logo says Frosh-State State?
  19. After speaking with our AD, He had emailed Mr. Faulkens. As of right now, no limit on spectators, but reserved seating.
  20. https://www.trackwrestling.com/tw/uploads/O-617522132-Indiana_Frosh_Soph_State_2021.pdf Here is the flyer from last year, There is no flyer on Trackwrestling, but the qualifiers are on 2/13/22. Looks like MD is holding the South qualifier. Portage usually host the North qualifier.
