  1. Btw.... how bout #TheBobby coming to Indiana, seeing first Indiana wrestling action, and finding this board to voice some strong opinions! We got a tough new poster!!!!
  2. To be honest I was watching from home and could not tell if it was or wasn’t a takedown from my view. I was just curious.... didn’t mean to start a quality of ref debate. Seems to be mixed opinions.
  3. http://www.avonbarbershop.net/ For Fabio next time. Can go to get lined up. Ask for Zack Short...he wrestled at Beech Grove with Steven Bradley. Look fresh and talk wrestling. I will help this young fella Unc!
  4. I’m guessing that they did not want to chance losing at 120 and 126. And.. trying to get bonus at 126. Great win by Hammond. Huge swing match win there.
  5. 152.... takedown or not???? Lets hear opinions. TheCountyTMZ is in the gym.... maybe they have the scoop.
  6. Some schools are throwing small schools a bone and keeping them on their schedules with the hope to keep their wrestling programs alive. By wrestling a team with a bunch of open weights, it hurts a school. I can see programs not being able to get duals and dying because of this. This is BAD for wrestling. And Danny,.... Sometimes a forfeit does show who the better wrestler is when you have coaches unwilling to send kids out against better kids. Coaches need to start coaching those kids up and put them on the mat. I see this way too much.
  7. If this is the case... I see teams weigh-in kids and then forfeit to studs to preserve records (if the meet is in hand). The good kids lose a win (which results in a lower win percentage). The kid that is dodging loses nothing. With this said... if a team weighs-in a kid in or has a kid that is eligible to wrestle and doesn’t send a kid out there, that kid should take the loss on his record and the kid that gets the forfeit should be able to count the win! Talk about a can of worms!!! Smh
  8. Or...... if you get beat by a really good kid that nobody else in the bracket has wrestled shouldn’t count either. Just count wins and loses to average kids.
  9. Joe...That one was your Cork and Clever. Talk about good!
  10. Yeah... changes are in order but, having those pancakes at IHOP at midnight after my guy won is a great memory that my family will always cherish. Fun times.
  11. This biggest issue is the seeding criteria (or lack of it). A few years back Asa and Alec Viduya met the first round. Alec wrestled 11 times that day to take true 2nd. That’s not good. The people who run it have been using track profile rankings to seed this. That is a severely flawed way of doing it. I have suggested the following seeding criteria for several years: 1. Returning middle school state champ 2. Returning middle school state placer 3. ISWA folkstyle schoolboy state champ 4. ISWA folkstyle schoolboy top 4 placer 5. ISWA folkstyle novice state champ 6. ISWA folkstyle novice top 4 placer
  12. Some of the best elementary wrestling that I’ve seen in a while. Wow!!! It was good. I want to congratulate Avon for making the championship match for the 8th straight year (every year they’ve had it). Also... big congrats to Center Grove on their back to back titles. Great team! On a personal note... I think that I’m retiring from coaching at the elementary level. It’s been a blast. Keep it rolling everyone! Brewer
  13. Conor Brady of Liberty Ohio beat Amine by the same score last week in Brecksville. Would love to see a B Lee vs Conor Brady match. Was hoping to see that at who’s number one after Lewin dropped out. I would take B Lee to win. But... seeing this score made me want to see that match even more! Great finish by Brownsburg.
  14. #TheCounty Class wrestling!!!! Theres a start!!!
  15. They are using Southport as the home school for this team. Their report cards and wildcards are based on the team attending Southport. So yes.. It would be a Perry Twp dual.
  16. The question is????? Will we see th battle of Perry township? Who will win that?
  17. Well this took a right handed turn! I can assure everyone this... 1. Coach Blevins (who is now gone) is the straightest man that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. His integrity should not be questioned. I’m sure that all others that really know him would agree. 2. I’m sure that it did feel “like” Asa was cutting 20 a week (to him). But ... cmon man.. that would be just about impossible for a 113. Perhaps he should have chosen a better way to express himself. With that said... I’m not too surprised that a bunch of anonymous grown posters have decided to make that one part of a great article the focus of that article. 3. There are very few kids that are not above the required weight range a few minutes after weighing in. A couple waters and a sandwich and that’s a done deal. With this said, most are good by Monday’s practice. That’s just typical. 4. I have had the pleasure of being around some of the most talented youth wrestlers that have came out of Indiana over the last decade (my ISWA duties). Asa was not always the top dog. He had worked hard and has earned everthing that he has achieved. He is very respectful and is not a rule breaker. Words can’t express how proud I am of this kid.
  18. Grimsons? Impressive list boys! Now somebody rank them.
  19. Wagner’s from Zionsville have a shot.
  20. There were some big kids there. Saw some receding hairlines and some serious ink too! Grown men I’m telling ya. Not that we don’t have that here but more there.
  21. Kid was from the host school....home cooking 100 percent. Leroy let that ref have it!!! Ripped him good.
  22. Indiana taking it on the chin this round. But.... in the long run they are all winning. The level of wrestling here is stupid good. Great matchups of D1 kids, one after another. Both teams have had super good sportsmanship. Representing well.
  23. That was a rematch of the match that knocked him out of the championship bracket. Both kids were IHPO champs. Couple more ticks and Carson would have gotten the takedown to win it. Great match. Super proud. #GettingBetter
