  1. Could someone who knows the rules better than me explain why a point could not have beeen awarded for fleeing? Sure he did not flee the mat but he was fleeing the other wrestler and is that not what you are doing when you flee the mat? This is a serious question and am qurious of how this rule could apply.
  2. How about Eric Hemmelgarn from Southern Wells? Finished fourth at Semi State and ends up placing third at state as a sophmore in the heavies.
  3. Here is the quote from Brooks in the SouthBend Tribune ?I did that, because I was supposed to move to Yorktown this year,? said Brooks. ?It was all set, but then we didn?t do it. But I?m friends with (the Yorktown coach) and I made a deal that if I won a state title, I would run over and jump in his arms.? So Yorktown almost recuited Brooks also. So what in the world is going on with people saying Yorktown does not recruit. If there is enough smoke there is fire. This is something that keeps coming up every year, concrete examples of good wrestlers around the state moving to Yorktown. Open your eyes if you still say Yorktown does not recruit your blind!!!!!!
  4. I'll admit I didn't expect to see Batt in the finals. Great job young man.
  5. I am all for supporting your wrestler and all but to say you would be apalled at him not winning 4 national titles is a bit much don't you think? I do have one request for you though please don't start posting creepy pics of JT.
  6. I think they are one and the same...if not...then very creepy!
  7. Guilty...and yes I am 43.
  8. I would agree with this. He has to think of the next level now. If he would wrestle with the injury it could be that it would do major harm. His H.S. career might be over but he is moving on and up. Best of luck.
  9. Chalfant's flex...I think Boston of Mcic could possibly come close in comparison if either of them win ;D
  10. I would disagree with this. Moving weight classes I have no problem with. Not wrestling to stop momentum is wrong in my book. IT is about competetion and letting it be decided on the mat not by playing games off the mat.
  11. Reminds me of an old no fear t-shirt "The older I get the better I was"
  12. If the new rule goes into effect that the second take down on is worth three...I would like to see riding out a period worth more than one point.
  13. A big congrats! I know this is not your goal but a stepping stone towards your goal. You have accomplished something by qualifying for state that hundreds of guys fall short of each year. So don't let the nay sayers bring you down. Enjoy your accomplishment and best of luch on the international scene! Will be rooting for your to have that gold medal some day!
  14. Interesting point. Will the multiplier change each year?
  15. Another website had Lynde on the Honorable Mention list.
  16. According to Intermat there will be 12 13 14nationally ranked wrestlers in Indy this weekend. That is not too shaby for the State of Indiana. Boston, Mcic, and Miracle for ladies Brooks Todd, Campbell Ayersman McKinley, Malloy Jackson Tsirtsis Mullins 160-0 Willis 180-0 Sliga 220-0 HWT-0
  17. What am I going to do I still say Market Square...Maybe this will get me to start saying Conseco.
  18. Yet on your state predictions you have Moser placing fourth? Which is it Lahue is going to beat Moser by four or Moser is going to place fourth?
  19. I would agree with this one hundred percent. It will even move us further away from wrestling on the mat.
  20. Have the coaches association ever requested a move of venue?
  21. I will be a homer on this one. Brent Faurote with 24 years at the helm at Bellmont. He instills character in his kids! I heard the principle praising the fact that there was a kid in the wrestling room who stayed in school because of Coach Faurote. He was the first in his family to get a diploma. On the radio after sectionals he stated he was heading back to Bellmont to be at a youth wrestling event! He and his whole staff are a class act. If I lived in the district I would be pleased to see my boy wrestle for this crew!! Well done!
  22. Anything can happen this is why they wrestle. If anybody looks past another wrestler at this point you just maybe going home early. I don't think too many people were picking Larry Owings to win. Look at your present opponent don't worry about the titles or who is next.
  23. How about wrestler claiming he his hurting in order to stop a reversal? That is what I believe I saw today.
