I thought if you didn't make weight at state, they bumped you up to the next class. since you weigh in the night before, they have time to redo the brackets.

I wouldn't go with the team's suggestion in the future. Converse with the other adults and you can make the decisions.

i thought it was pretty obvious in BOTH cases that the kid from CP was not "wrestling" but stalling. Do you honestly think when he was on bottom in the 3rd period he was working for an escape or reversal? it looked like a freestyle match where he was just trying to keep a base and not move. same in OT...he did nothing but back up the whole OT, did you even watch the match?

as far as the stalling calls in the 135 pound match i thought they were warranted...although the timing of the call that sent it into OT should have been made earlier. The bottom guy stalled the whole 3rd period, what is questionable about that? i also thought at 171 that the stalling on MD was a good call to tie it up.

Roach probably could have won but I wouldn't have bet against welch. it was obviously a better choice for him to go 145.

I read the article and it didn't make much sense. It is a winner take all and that is what PM did. Its pretty much the same with all sports. The team that may finish runner up isn't always the second best team in the state in any sport but they still get the medal. WOW.

personally i think it looks redneck-ish to wear tennis shoes with a coat and tie. however, to each his own. one thing is certain, the guy is a good coach. on a side note, armyofone had one of the more funny quotes.

that does ring a bell. I'm not sure but the after the second period I thought the score was wrong....something strange happened and they even checked with the table. i would LOVE to see a replay of this match.

Just the point I was going to make. If there are 3 big lakes with 400 fish and 3 small lakes with 50 fish, which lake has the better odds of producing a big fish? let me tell you its not 50-50. BUT, each fish has a chance of being the big fish because it doesn't have to rely on any other fish in its own pond. again, if we need to class anything, we need to class team state. and don't get me started on crowning our champion based on the individual tournament. Indian Creek darn near scored the most points and are you going to tell me they are the best or 2nd best TEAM in the state? -
does anyone remember this match very well from friday night? I swear the score was wrong. It seems like Lykins should have an extra point but now I can't recall how it went. The final was 9-6 but I would like to see the match again and check the actual scoring.

I liked Kyle Ayersman giving his subtle peace sign...or was he referring to two for his two state championships? or maybe he was doing his richard nixon "i am not a crook". either way, it was my favorite match and favorite celebrations. It looked like a look of relief and almost surprised at himself for coming back at the end with the two quick takedowns and the third in OT.

This was a good match...watched it again on the ihsaa website and it was just as good the second time. The first period scramble was awesome wrestling by both young men. I'd say most people enjoyed the match and congrats to both for their great careers.

i asked this in another thread but will probably need some help from TAE. have two brothers ever wrestled two brothers for the title in back to back weights in the same year. Its going to happen this year.

I don't think jeans should be worn but i don't think you have to wear a suit and tie either. but then again, who am i to judge? I will say this, you would never ever see a football or basketball coach wear jeans to coach in.

parade is great, hearing kevin whitehead is better than anything else - especially when he announces an overtime match, quarterfinals early saturday morning working on about 3 hours sleep, semi finals excitement, face off before the finals - hearing kevin whitehead again, big upsets friday night and saturday, shaved ice, spending about $30 each session at the concession stand because i'm such a sucker, and most of all saving seats for my friends that are late.

did Heistand beat Weekly this year? Weekly is on a mission, i could see him beating Roach. Molloy is going to be tough to beat, i think he can do it.
