Our kid 220 Beck Davis was left off He has above a 4.0. He's a state qualifier from 2016 and a SSQ this year. Also, Drake Baker 160 didn't make it and he had a 4.0 and was a SSQ.

Thank you. Beck had an injury that kept him out for a long time. That effected him for sure, but there was no stopping Maddox Saturday. He's a takedown machine for a 220! I

Garrett took 7 to Semi State. Advanced 3 to state. Had a rough ticket round match for returning state qualifier Beck Davis as he drew into Caleb Maddox. We had a freshman almost pull the 4 over 1. Pretty solid day.

Somehow I was on the topic of my freshman year of high school the other day and I came across the attendance figures for each semi state at the time....2002-2003 Merrillville Semi State Attendance 5,948!!! Evansville Reitz 3,495 New Haven 2,785 New Castle 2,546 No wonder the atmosphere was that crazy in that gym...I wonder how the numbers have shifted and what they will be this year

Our system does suck, but we are aware of it and it makes Indiana wrestling exciting...however, it's just plain ridiculous...and in my opinion it's laziness...We should have wrestle backs throughout the entire tournament

It would be nice to figure out something to strengthen our semi state. I would absolutely love to see more FW SS State Placers and Champions!

I would say Dwenger, Garrett, Carroll, New Haven, and Homestead can all have 5 plus SSQ

As in New Haven Sectional having more qualifiers or New Haven winning the Regional ?

Anton went on to win a JUCO National Championship and started at Ohio State. While at Ohio State he qualified for Nationals...not sure how many times...I know his senior year he beat the Iowa kid who was the runner up the next year...at nationals he was forced to Inj. Def. because of a knee injury. He fought in Bellator. Now's he's making some moves on the BJJ Scene.
