A coach bumps when it is beneficial to the team and gives them the best chance to win, if the match is already in hand then why would a coach or a wrestler risk getting hurt in a essentially meaningless match? Its dual meets and it all comes down to what is better for the team now and in future matches, individual glory comes later.

I wonder how much weight he will lose or if he will just cut weight before each weigh in.

With all the move-ins happening in the sport teams need to start having better selling points to convince wrestlers to come to their school ;D

They announced 14 guys at during introductions, they had about another 15 sitting on the JV bench. Someone is hurt is just an excuse, if you are hurt don't weigh in. The other guy is too tough????????? Thats the most pathetic excuse ever!!!! IDK what you were watching but that was not a good hard fought duel at least from a coaching standpoint.

Yeah but for a 4th place team in the state its pretty sad that they are throwing in the towel that early in the match.

That was embarrassing. Looked for a good match-up but it wasn't even close. How can Merrillville not even man an entire team?????

I don't know about you guys, but I can not stand with wrestlers go up on the podium or are being announced and they are not representing their school. Sweet tiger shirt, or pro power shirt, or whatever, they should be wearing their schools colors and warm-ups

I was sitting up at the buffet and they didn't turn off the lobby music during the anthem so I was hearing that in the background of the pretty bad singing.

It is all situational. As far as duel meets, its always better to get tech falled than pinned no questions asked. When is comes to individual tournaments it all depends on who you are facing and how the match went. 1) If you are going up agianst someone who has pinned everyone that gets in their way and tries their best to pin you but you keep fighting, and fighting to stay off your back and eventually back points add up to a tech fall, then it is not too bad to lose by tech fall. 2) If the guy you are wrestling is toying around with you, taking you down constantly and letting you back up, adn the only reason he is not pinning you because he needs the mat time or he just likes to show off his skills to the spectators, then that is worse than getting pinned. 3) The worse way you can get defeated, wether it is by tech fall or by pin fall, is if you give up during a match. If you go out their and things aren't goin your way and you give up, then the guy is going to do to you as he pleases. Even if you are out matched make sure you go out and fight the guy, if he wants to pin you, then stay off your back, if he wants to tech you, then don't let him continuously take you down.....fight till the end, if you do so then who cares how bad you lose at least you will walk off the mat knowing you lost because they were the better wrestler, not because you gave up.

I know at Conseco nothing is a given, but who do you think can run the table in their respective weight class? I am talking about guys who can go out there and dominate all 4 matches wether by pinning, majoring, or tech falling their way to a championship. Also, who do you think has had the most dominant state tourney in the last decade?

I think Wright, Tsirtsis, McMurray, Duckworth, and Porras will all have a great shot at winning agian. That being said the other three will still have alot to do with who wins at their respective weight classes -
Don't have much time so here is my Champions predicitons.... 103-Brooks or Petrov 112-Ayersman 119-Bradley....I am finally convinced 125-Wright 130-Tsirtsis-too good 135-Barlow 140-Porras-I think he takes care of Brady this time 145-Roach 152-Welch 160-McMurray-3X 171-Duckworth-defends his title 189-Atwood 215-Cleveland 285-Travis-beast' Should be good, hopefully I don't have too much homework this weekend so I can make the trip down to the Fieldhouse!!!!!
