  1. 182 maybe the only weight without a Evansville SS rep in the finals. A couple of the weights left will be close but Evansville SS wrestlers taking a lot of the top 4 spots.
  2. Thanks. But, Ugh sounds like it’s pay another time to view for most people. Looks like Bally Sports indiana has a 7 day free trial that may work to push the viewing problem down the road until at least next year. Ballys Network is trending to go under for good by then so who knows the viewing option by next year. Anyone know if just watching the finals on IHSAA App would be pro-rated cost rather than paying for the whole weekend worth?
  3. As much as I was hoping to make it up for state life priorities (wife’s birthday) took precedence this time. Does anyone have confirmation on the streaming options for the championship finals matches. In years past it wasn’t carried on FLO so your only options were the IHSAA app (which used to be free) or having Bally Sports TV (formally Fox Sports). The wording on the IHSAA site isn’t super clear on the Championship match viewing and I don’t want curveball to occur when the finals get started. I know it’s on Ballys TV but that’s not carried by many providers anymore, including mine. And from the current IHSAA app options they are charging for the finals as part of the whole state package. But possibly the Championship finals only free option just isn’t up yet. So can anyone confirm if the finals will actually be on Flo this year? Or are the finals only still free on IHSAA app rather than part of the entire day pay option?
  4. To add to that, from what I have seen before a quad view isn't always available when using their app all the time. Occasionally there is a 5th stream option that already combines all 4 mats but no options to divide your screen into 4 different screens. But the QuadBox option does exist through using their website via their website.
  5. I hear that he walks the earth like Caine from Kung Fu giving out sage advice to those young ones patient enough to listen.
  6. Can someone start a GoFundMe to get an audio recording professional to sit down with Kevin and create an audio index of every imaginable wrestling term and name which we can just play at state next year. I’ll gladly take a computerized Kevin if we no longer can get the real thing.
  7. Ah, I remember the great days of being in the lower suites. Got myself really spoiled during the decade we were able to acquire those tickets. Especially during the prior time period of leaving for lunch early and then still having to run the gauntlet to get decent regular seats.
  8. The simple answer is "the fans" win. All of state is exciting to watch, but it's going to be a barn-burner from the quarter-final through finals at this weight class.
  9. The last wording I read on this was the freshman and sophomore girls needed to be an IHSGW placer to automatically qualify. State qualifiers would have to go through the Fresh-Soph girls North or South qualifier or last change qualifier.
  10. On the optimistic side. New streak can starts next season.
  11. That’s what the national federation was saying to do, so I’d say it’s likely for next year.
  12. Come on man you stole my thunder. Elkins built a lead on being better on his feet in the 1st period (maybe 4-1), but then ended up with choice and picked down. Someone forgot to tell him that’s not the best decision to make vs. a nasty pinner in Schleibaum. The cross face cradle was his go to but when that didn’t present itself Curt hammer locked him and got a tight turn. The moment Elkins, who was already battling some back stiffness, choose down I turned and said that decision is going to cost him this match.
  13. Rewatching the IHSAA bracket reveal show is about your only option until they release them on track. Or if it takes to long Joe may have his brackets up after he gets home tonight.
  14. Clark and Jones on same side of bracket at HWT.
  15. 195 is tough all around but Purdy has a gauntlet to run to comeback from last weeks loss.
  16. Well won’t get a super freshman Thrine vs Frasier in the finals. They are on same side of the bracket.
  17. I’ve believe several of Thrine’s opponents have said the same thing when he puts them on their back out of nowhere.
  18. That kid isn’t just fast he’s sudden.
  19. Yes that basically what I was told. They ended up taking him out to error on the side of caution.
  20. Bickel opened the throttle all the way on Gilbert right from the start and didn’t let off until the pin. He wasn’t leaving anything to chance once he got going. Very impressive showing.
  21. 7-4 (3-4 Big10) Michigan and Chattanoog left on the dual season for IU. They are going to finish above .500 but not sure if they get to .500 in Conference. Still an improvement for the Hoosier from prior seasons.
  22. Always sucks when the printer runs low on the grey pigments.
  23. Not to mention the amount of weight shifting that also goes on between that meet and sectionals. The common conception is everyone shifts down, but sometimes they stay the same and sometimes another persons shift causes you to have to move up. Either way your early season or even middle seasons events don’t give you the same opponents as the end of the season. You can wrestle over half your sectional but still end up with few head to heads and only some common opponents due to that issue and the injury one Y2 mentioned. Definitely not enough to make a vs. the field seeding situation really work. I’m sure the IHSAA thinks all the wrestlers do or should face each other before sectionals, but just never took the time to consider the real situation of our season compared to their other sports.
  24. Indiana University, I believe all by way of Bloomington HS, had a few pre-WWII ones. Richard Voliva Olympic Sliver and I believe there was another.
