  1. Closer than you might think. 106 - HSE 113 - HSE 120 - CG 126 - CG 132 - HSE 145 - ??? 152 - HSE 160 - HSE 170 - HSE 182 - ??? 195 - HSE 220 - CG HW - CG If CG gets pins at their strongest weights (120, 126, 220 and HW) and HSE does not get ANY pins, CG wins (by my conservative count 31 to 29). However, if HSE gets any pins and CG does not pin at 3 of their 4 strong weights, I do not believe CG can win. Just my 2 cents. PS - my crystal ball likes CG's coach's intensity. Sometimes it makes the difference.
  2. Becasue they do not archive by individual match . . . .
  3. I hope those that make it tonight record the matches and post them (e.g., on YouTube). Anyone plan on doing this?
  4. 170 lbs. Irick (HSE) still undefeated
  5. Excellent job on the mag! It must have taken many hours and thought to develop such a great product. Hats off to you!
  6. They are out now. http://www.ihsaa.org/dnn/Sports/Boys/Wrestling/201011/IndividualStateTournament/tabid/953/Default.aspx
  7. The McGinley loss to Willis was by fall in under a minute.
  8. I wasn't taking anything away from McGinley. He rolled into a position and capitalized. Good scramble. Timing was questionable, but good wrestling. Just like Willis capitalized on him by fall in under 1 minute. Calm down.
  9. Neibarger v McGinley came down to an end of the match "4 pt move" in favor of McGinley. Roll the tape on that one . . . Willis over Neibarger 4-3.
  10. Did anybody tape this match? Would love to see it out there somewhere . . . .
  11. I think RankingsGuy should use the same criteria they use for college wrestling. Oh, wait, he does! I appreciate all ofthe RankingsGuy's hard work, thought and effort. Unlike most involved in rankings in any sport, he is willing to explain his logic. Give the guy some credit, this isn't his first stab at ranking wrestlers in Indiana . . . . .
  12. What happened to Dustin Parrish at 160 lbs.????
  13. This guy is absolutely amazing! One of the best and unbiased referees this State has ever seen was there and explained to all of us the situation. Yet, this guy continues to complain and groan. Duck, I don't know you, but you are doing a disservice to Indiana wrestling. I hope you will look back on this situation and realize that your comments crossed the line -- maybe even apologize for your comments. If I could penalize anyone for unsportsmanlike conduct, it would be you. You have lost all credibility on this Board.
  14. Does anyone have the web address to the site to review and buy pictures from Friday and Saturday?
  15. Cathedral has 4 HSE has 1 Fishers has 1
  16. Freshman making the trip: Gettinger - 103 Farrell - 103 Moss - 103 Crume - 112 Welch - 112 Bradley - 119 Malloy - 119 Neibarger - 152 Sliga - 189 Hurford - 189
  17. When the lights are out, but the spotlight is on, anything is possible.
  18. I am sure that the Cathedral kid beat Mike in the dual. So, they each have a win agasint the other. Ought to be a good match if Mike can get past Manning in the ticket round. That is a tall order.
  19. Austin Neibarger (152) Fighting Irish Frosh Football- Starting Middle Linebacker and Guard Mitch Sliga (189) Fishers Tigers Frosh Football- Starting Fullback and Quarterback
  20. JAG: I understand your knee-jerk reaction. But, by redrawing, you are hurting the majority of wrestlers (all currently bracketed-wrestlers, in fact) who are actually preparing for their matches with strtaegy, moves, etc. Unlike the "no-opportunity" issue with the Jay County situation, everyone here gets an oportunity and a change hurts all other wrestlers. I am sure that is not what you want -- unless you do not like your current draw for your Noblesville wrestler ? ? ? ? Just sayin'
  21. I cannot see a redraw. We are talking about one regional and, to the extent there are some "wrestle Brandon Wright or lose in Regionals" scenarios out there, we are talking about very few weight classes and one regional. Kis are preparing for their matches. So, stop huring the majority in fear of a few isolated incidents. There will always be isolated incidents. Let's move on . . . .
  22. 1. 125 2. 135 3. 1992 134 lbs in college (155 walk around weight)
  23. I guess this is not going to be a real debate given that you have only seen Willis wrestle twice -- once as a frosh and once as a soph against a two-time state champ. Simply, Willis did not wrestle his style against McMurray. If you have seen Willis wrestle other matches, you have seen dominating offense and amazing athletic ability. Nothing against McMurray -- he is a great high school wrestler. I would hope as a wrestling fan (or former wrestler) you can appreciate that a young wrestler's second bite at a hyped opponent is always better. The nerves are gone and confidence helps the wrestler perform better. With a 1-0 first match, I can't wait to see the second match.
  24. This appears to be the most reasoned approach of the ones I have seen. My only change would be at 112 -- I would go with Beck. Nothing against Campbell, I just don't think he can beat Beck in the tournament. Also, I think 160 lbs will have the best match of the tournament. If Willis opens up his offense, the match will be physical. On that front, I like Willis' odds.
