Not a GOOD REPLY. I am glad that you informed us that they have wrestled more than once and that they split. I don't believe there is any reason to call out a talented wrestler like Welch and call him defensive and say he was lucky for winning. A win is a win in my. I respect you stating facts about matches, but there is no reason to put down a JUNIOR HIGH wrestler. Hopefully these two will meet again over the next four years! It is going to be fun to watch! Both are great wrestlers and represent the south well.
HAHA I just finished reading some of those and they are hilarious!
Caldwell definately came to wrestle and deserved it!!!
Metcalf didn't even looked like he cared that much until he shoved Caldwell after the end of the match.
i LOVE riding legs.
I throw them in every time i get the chance.
I believe you have to have great balance to be a successful leg rider. Those that don't have good balance usuallyend up falling to a hip and getting reversed.
Welch Johns and Wedding are all around 110. Welch beat both johns and wedding in some close matches. Haven't seen Kuhn that much to know of any big wins.
I would imagine Welch being a 112lber next year for the knights.
As for the Reitz youngsters, it will be tough to find a spot at those lower weights with big kuhn and moody both coming back
Some that i have observed...
Little Johns-Reitz
Little Kuhn-Reitz
Mastison-Harrison
Little Welch- Castle
Little Wedding????? not sure what grade but he is tough!
I know there are lots of others but these are some standouts that i remembered
My nod for match of the day goes to Sandefur!! He got a takedown and was then taken down and turned. I thought he was in trouble, but it just seemed to P*** him off!!! He then proceeded to pin his kid from illinois!!
Another great match was McGinley!!!
He was losing in the third period and then put the kid to his back with a cradle!!
Have we seen this scenario before?
Good day of wrestling.
Good to see Indiana on top!
In the record books ten years from now it is not going to say this wrestler was loosing and then caught his opponent. All it will say is that he WON!
A win is a win in my book, even if you are not the best wrestler, it is always about finding a way to win.
As a very wise and noble person tells me, what other sports can you be winning by 14 and lose it all in two seconds???
That is why we wrestle six minutes!!!!!!!!!!
What about wrestlers placing higher or the same at state as they did at semi-state???
Two examples i can remember off of the top of my head are
171-Mappes-Center Grove 3rd Semi-State, 3rd State
285- Clark-Jeff 4th Semi-state, 3rd State
103-Kief-Franklin 3rd Semi-State, 2nd State
Looking at the results it appears that there were many many Injury defaults in the wrestle back rounds.
Are wrestlers really hurt or just phoning it in because they have already lost?
My philosophy is...I would rather get 7th rather than 6th any day because that means you won your last match!!!!!
JOKE-that is not my philosophy...i would rather get first, but if i lost i would have the pride to wrestle back to the highest place possible.
