  1. I can't believe that nobody has said anything about King beating Warren. They are both ranked in the top ten.
  2. It was a very entertaining night even with the forfeits. There were matches at 182, 220, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160 last night. So there were 11 matches and Reitz won 5 to MD's 6 Reitz had 2 forfeits to MD's 1. The thing that hurt Reitz the most was Vanhook and Schnarr being out but MD's bonus points and a come from behind pin made a huge difference also. I'm already looking forward to SIAC, last night was a great preview for what we have coming in the future weeks. Its got me pumped. Congrats to MD on a great dual.
  3. I need those results also. I have a few cold beverages on the line to see if I'm better at pickems then him.
  4. Montgomery was impressive yesterday. I'll admit he took me by suprise. In Reugers defense .... he almost had Montgomery pinned also. Montgomery is a HUGE 140 pounder!!! He will do very well next week.
  5. Actually I did not see a Reitz fan rooting agaist MD all day. I agree that alot of people root against MD but you didn't see Reitz fans doing it today. You know I really like Henderson... he seems like a good kid and a good person but some of his "biggest fans" need to realize that there is more to life then high school wrestling and booing high school athletes when your favorite wrestler has nothing to do with the match is pretty sad.
  6. This may sound funny but I used to run to the National Anthem. I'd picture myself in a face-off listening to the National Anthem and I would start running faster and longer.
  7. One thing that I have to give to the guys in stripes is that they are out there and I am not. Being a ref is not an easy task and I give those guys credit for being out there when most wouldn't dare wear the stripes. However I was also very disappointed in the officiating. I think that I would be ok if some of the call were more consistant. For example, Rueger should of had 3 back points (1st or 2nd period sorry can't remember) and the ref didn't give it to him and Lannert's shoulders broke 45 degrees. Then not 30 seconds later Lannert's shoulders DID NOT break 45 degrees and Rueger got 2 back points. I agree with JonH on the 189 match summing it up. They took back points away from Sandwith then didn't give Boots an obvious takedown late in the third. I hope the officiating gets a little more consistant over the next few weeks or like Justind283 said..... it may cost someone their season.
  8. What was the score between Chamberlain and Whetstein?
  9. I agree... i thought it was a great match. Johns gave up one take down (tip) and couldn't roll out and Goebel scored 5. Johns scored the first takedown and a reversal in the third. I think these two are pretty evenly matched. Just thinking of SIAC, sectionals, etc gets me fired up.
  10. Is Evan Weinzapfel still wrestling? I heard that he had a knee injury and was out for the season. You know how rumors are.... hope its not true.
  11. I'm really looking forward to the SIAC tourney this year. Usually there is a weight class or two that has a lot of parity but this year there are 4-5 weight classes that are really interesting. 112,119,130, and 145 are all great weight classes to watch this year. You add in matches like Moody vs Henderson and Sims vs Welch and Castle gym is gonna be rockin.
  12. I'll take Konrath as the 135 winner.
  13. I"ve watched alot of wrestling over the past few years and these guys impress me. Luke has a little to live up to but i'm sure he will. 112 was a tough weight class this year in the SIAC but he hung in there pretty well. As far as the twins, it seems like each time I watch them wrestle i'm thinking... GOLLIE they are good!
  14. Have there ever been brothers that wrestled under the lights in the same year? These two got a shot at doing it .... back to back weight classes at that. I can't imagine being the parents in that situation. That would be like 15 min of nervous breakdown. Hope you guys can do it!
  15. i see ... its the same for each weight class at each semi-state.
  16. I agree with the scales should have been ready or put in their place at the begining of the day. If he tought he was on weight (he did) then there is no reason for him to try to lose a couple of tenths before official weigh in. I don't agree with # 3. I and many others don't think that Harmon or any of his staff altered the scales. Moving it (for room) may have changed it a couple of tenths but i don't think it was intentional for the scale to change by any means. Most coaches can put themselves in this situation and they would have done the same for their wrestler.
  17. I agree. The other 3 semi-states are not effected.... don't make us suffer any longer.
  18. Man did Sulawski have a heck of a day or what. Same for Tyler Raben. Congrats fellas!!!! hope it rolls over into next weekend.
  19. I couldn't agree more. I keep hearing "say it on public forum" I never seen a post where Coach Ferguson called you cheater. On another note, Reitz did have a wrestler a few years ago who was a tenth or two over (at regionals) and Coach Ferguson told him his season was over. If there wasn't something in question yesterday then i'm sure Coach Ferguson wouldn't have brought it up. Of all the rumors I heard yesterday (there were plenty) I never heard one that said Coach Harmon or any of his staff were cheaters. I think a phone call between you two is needed.
  20. Vanhook stepped on the scale before weigh ins and was 105 even on one scale so he put his clothes on and went out and laid on the mat (this is all before the official weigh in). Now if Vanhook was over don't you think he would have drilled or ran to get below or on weight? The NP kids said the same thing ... they were .2 to .3 tenths MORE the second time they weighed in and didn't eat or drink anything. I though Dylan wrestled well today also and did win fair and square but there is no reason to try and call Vanhook out. Vanhook has always been a good sport towards Dylan and I wouldn't expect any less becasue he is a heck of a kid.
  21. Nutsdad.... i've always had a lot of respect for you but its starting to go out the window. If it wasn't fair for him to wrestle then they wouldn't have let him. Real classy sitting with a guy who yells out of the crowd at a 15 yr old kid.... guess you showing your true colors.
  22. I think the Evansville Semi-State at 135 is going to be awesome also. Barlow got beat by Van Horn, Weekly took Barlow into OT (the only time i watched) and he has beat Van Horn Weekly got beat by Weinzapfel (not in the tournament series any longer) Ruegger has beat Weinzapfel and handled the match each time, Ruegger hasn't lost in Indiana, There is also Rassbach who has had some tight matches with Van Horn, Not to mention Konrath who is very impressive.
